Big win!
As a Jays' fan, I swear I haven't said this often, but I really can't remember the last time we lost a game.

And thanks to this homestand, the only team in the division with a home record above .500.
Also, lol @ Houston with the Oilers-like playoff chances already.

Jays are one of only 4 teams in MLB with 30 wins.
Pretty fun to watch right now, hope they can keep it going!

Article from earlier today:
Quote:
And the question most asked is whether or not the Jays will jump in on Jeff Samardzija or David Price. “We are pretty much maxed out in terms of payroll,” says Anthopoulos, “but more important, we cannot keep trading our young pitchers (like Stroman, Aaron Sanchez, Daniel Norris). We also have to be realistic about whom we can extend if we make a trade for him.”
The Blue Jays know that neither Price nor Samardzija will sign an extension with Toronto before hitting the free agent market at the end of the 2015 season. “We have been feeling out teams and doing background work,” Anthopoulos says. “I think we’d probably look at something where we have a pitcher for the rest of this season. That makes sense.”

Jays also made a minor trade today:
Quote:
The Blue Jays have acquired right-hander P.J. Walters and outfielder Melky Mesa from the Royals in exchange for cash considerations, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports (Twitter link). Both players had been playing with the Royals’ Triple-A affiliate after signing minor league deals in the offseason, and Walters and Mesa will likely also serve as organization depth for Toronto.

Its interesting to see this play out for the Blue Jays, this year is how last year was suppose to go for them. They were suppose to be this good last year along with their division rivals struggling. That didn't work out. This year, they were not suppose to be a great team and divisional rivals were suppose to be better and its opposite so far this year.
As a non-Jays fan, if AA can find away to land one more good starter, a #3 or even a #4, plus one solid bullpen arm, they have an actual chance to make noise. They are a good hitting team that plays in a hitter's park, which always helps, so offense really shouldn't be much of a concern.

Fun to watch right now, if only they had one more arm I think they'd be legit contenders.
Flogging a dead horse but letting Ervin Santana go when he could have been had so reasonably looks like a big mistake now, they will have to pay through the nose to get another starter.
I know he took the same money or less to go to Atlanta but I think they just waited way too long on him, I don't even think Atlanta was interested until they got hit with injuries in camp.
