I'm not sure how you sit either Hamhuis or Nash. Hamhuis was for me the 2nd best left D behind Keith, ahead of JBo. Seemed to me whenever Canada had sustained pressure in the 2nd and 3rd, one of Keith or Hamhuis was on the ice. Vlasic wasn't terrible he just wasn't much of a presence.

Up front, I thought Nash was great, definitely wouldn't take him off. Using his size pretty well, had that one chance going between the D. Other than Carter, Marleau was just okay. If they'd prefer to sit a LW instead of a RW for Duchene, they may go with him, I would think, before Nash.

Exactly. We agree. Grapes is an idiot.

Although I believe Hockey Night in Chelyabinsk shows promise.

could have easily been 6 or 7 goals for Canada...they totally dominated the pucks just weren't going in and Norway had six guys playing goal

i think it is important to remember that the quality of the voyage is never judged by the departure from port, it is the arrival home that leaves the lasting impression.....

Norway should be proud, they skated well and played hard against a team of superstars and their goalie did a good job. I hope Trygg isn't hurt too badly for them, I'd like to see them play the same way against Finland and see how well the Finns fare.

Canada did not play poorly, the relatively close score reflects how well the Norwegians played. I'm sure they had this game circled on their calendar for a very long time.

I hope Luongo gets lit up tomorrow and they go with Price forever.

I never paid much attention to Tollefsen before, but I loved the way he played today. Lots of hits and kind of a pain to play against. Really impressed with him.

Considering they'll probably go with Price regardless at this point I don't know why you'd hope for this... it's not only better, but also more realistic, that Luongo DOESN'T get lit up and they go with Price forever.

Strong game by Canada after the 1st period. Price didn't have to do much but made a couple of really good saves. Norway stuck to their system impressed with how disciplined they were, team played hard Canada is just simply much better.

Is it guaranteed that Subban draws in tomorrow? If they stick to their right handed shooters sticking on the right side, I can't see him playing in place of Doughty, Weber or Pietrangelo. Those 3 played great.

Team Canada's micromanaging of their team is getting a little crazy. You win by letting the best players play, and in the offensive zone Subban on his off side is better than half those playing on their natural side.

I'd like to see Kunitz and Hamhius/Vlasic sit tomorrow for Duchene and Subban.

If Norway is this tightly contested, then Finland is going to be tough.

Yeah, I was just remembering they can dress 7D anyways, so it's not an issue the whole RD/LD thing.

Bouwmeester - Pietrangelo
Keith - Weber
Vlasic - Doughty
Subban

Hamhuis or Vlasic sits.

It will be a different game altogether since Finland has the talent to beat you. Norway was playing to not make a mistake, hoping they could hang around and sneak out a win. It was probably a frustrating game for Canada to play, add in the fact that it was the first game for them.

Yes.

Luongo starts, Smith backs him up. Not sure who sits for Subban, Mackenzie thinks it may be Hamhuis. No clue who sits for Duchesne.

Anyways... Girly, the key to getting that photocopy right is to ensure your butt cheeks are positioned correctly over the glass, and lean forward ever so slightly....

Your photocopy will turn out just fine....

Some guys online had the scoring chances as 24-5 (23-2 at even strength). I read that Jamie McLennan said on TSN that he had them around 24-4.

Nothing to worry about. Canada dominated the game as well as possible against a hard working team, but Norway's goaltender played very well and was only really beat by three well-placed shots. Generate those scoring chance numbers and it's a 7-0+ win over Austria and there's no panic.
