Can someone explain to be what is means to be nuggety...if that's what it takes to beat Nole I want to be nuggety too!

Wawrinka has really had a resurgence over the last year or so. Did he switch coaches or make some other big change? His backhand is ridiculous.

He did switch coach to Magnus Norman. He's always had the game and that great backhand but was like Gasquet, brainless and couldn't win a big match.

That loss to Djokovic in last years AO (10-8 in the 5th) i believe triggered something in his mind that "yes, I can play with these guys" and it launched his season. Then losing in Djokovic again in 5 sets in NY cemented that belief. And playing Djoker again last night he believed he could win and he did it.

times like this I wish urbandictionary didn't come up as the first result of a google, cause that sure didn't help. but it appears to mean stocky or thick set. I'd only call him that in relation to a wiry gumby like Nole. but yeah I guess if we were to adopt the term you could say that Burke is insistent on building a nuggety team. Nuggulence?

but anyways, 6 guys left, 3 one handed backhands. so tonight we're playing tennis like it's 1999?

Yes - if I'm reading the schedule correctly the women's semifinals will start around 7:30 pm MST.

I'm hoping Fed can get past Murray tonight, unfortunately the match is on at 1:30 AM. I haven't seen much of Roger's play this week but apparently he looked great against Tsonga.

Fast-rising Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard’s historic three-set victory over former world #1 player Ana Ivanovic drew major audiences to TSN, as overnight data from BBM Canada confirms that a total of more than 1.6 million unique viewers watched the 19-year-old Montréaler’s quarter-final victory at the 2014 AUSTRALIAN OPEN.

The two-and-a-half hour match drew an average audience of 406,000 viewers to TSN, and audiences peaked late in the third set as 717,000 viewers watched Bouchard close out the victory to become the first Canadian singles player to reach the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament since Carling Bassett in 1984.

I've not been following the women's game closely since marino disappeared but eugenie has raised my interest again.

I did think that "who would you date" question was a little cheesy, definately not something you'd ask a male tennis player on court after a slam qf victory but whatever i guess.

What a total meltdown by Azarenka. She does well to turn the crowd against her.

Crazy women's draw this year.

I would love to see a Bouchard vs. Cibulkova final...

Gotta give Rafa credit. Didn't look great in the first set but then just battled and battled for the rest of the match. Slow and steady wins the race in this one.
