Anyone use one of the LG QuickCovers that is sold on the google store? They look pretty good and doesn't appear to add too much bulk. I'm thinking of picking one up, but is it worth the $50 or is there a better similar option available elsewhere?

Ships out this Friday, hopefully arrives quickly!

Looks like on Feb 4th, Google Play will be having their phones in Red. Looks pretty sweet!

I use Contacts+

I'm pretty new to android, so I haven't tried 8sms and the others yet. I like Contacts+ because it is my contacts, a phone, and text messanger.

Compared to my SII.. I am totally impressed with my battery. I go a whole day plus.
Instead of looking for a charge around 3 o'clock.

Use the Greenify app and get even longer battery life. I'm usually around 80% with light use by end of the day.

If I have good service or Wifi throughout the day, my battery is usually at 65% at the end of the day with medium usage.

Location services are all on too.

Sitting around 70℅ without a battery app. Haven't found a need.

Greenify on a rooted phone is the bees knees. Allows you to kill any service that runs in the background, works well. I was getting two days easy on single charge. Sadly I cannot run rooted anymore.

What service do you need to kill that drains your battery that bad?

At one point in time I killed actually hibernate everything. Greenify will wake up the apps when needed and then hibernate them when you are done with them. The big ones being Google Search, Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, actually anything Google, and games.

I've never noticed that those apps drain my battery that much. I even allow them to access my location and they still don't drain the battery that much.

Root isn't required for Greenify anymore:

True but you cannot hibernate system apps which tend to be the biggest battery drainers. Found it didn't make much of a difference on my stock phone.

I am mostly not to concerned with battery life add I find my S3 just fine but I was really impressed with Greenify when I tried it. I went from 14/15 hours to 48 hours on a single charge with the same usage and no noticeable difference in my phone, ie; receiving notifications and such.

Not for everyone but I am one that likes to mess about with Android.
