No, it's one that affected him more than the other and declaring his own experience the perfect proxy for the entire city.
Go chat insurance people with what the ticket for this is going to be. It will be way bigger than nep. Way bigger.

Not sure how you can qualify a statement like that, but okay.

Well that article must have been linked on their front page for an hour or two. Checked yesterday and today and didn't see anything. Some measly article that I couldn't even find. Oh, no! I was so wrong about them!.. Uh huh, okay.
I don't think I'm overreacting at all.
Anyways I'm off to go help to the west of the city with sandbagging as they are asking for help. Hopefully it'll be easier to focus on hockey related things by the time the draft is here. Cause I can't for the life of me right now..

I said in the off topic forum, maybe all of the stampede concerts will be moved there. If the can lift the noise restrictions.

More seats = more tickets, and throw a charity component in there as well. Win-win.

Look at road closures and figured there's no logical way for me to get to McMahon without making it needlessly complicated. TV it is!

I haven't seen anything that addresses the Corral specifically.
Here's the best photo I've been able to find that shows the Corral:
Because the sun is shining, I think it's from this morning, so the water may have receded a bit. There appear to be a few dry patches around Stampede Park, including the area around the Saddledome. It's hard to tell, but from this, the Corral looks relatively unscathed.
One saving grace for the Corral is that ice level is at ground level, not significantly below grade like the Saddledome. If there was any flooding at the Corral, I'd guess it will be minimal.

Plus the Corral has plastic seats that will need only cleaning, rather than replacing like the Dome's fabric backed ones. And given how primitive the electronics are in that facility, anything requiring replacement could probably be managed by first year SAIT student.
For both facilities, the key will be structural damage. There is a lot that can be handled via temporary measures, including dressing rooms.

I would pay good money to experience another NHL game in that rickety old barn. Maybe they would allow smoking in it again too.
Talk about the ultimate retro fan experience.

I think the Flames will find a way to get the building ready. I understand that restoration planning is already underway.

The seating area clean up won't be the issue. The ice making plant with those giant fans and refrigeration pipes will likely suffer extensive damage due to debris. I also wonder how the sewage holds up during drainage and all the silt and sand that will likely be plugging it up.

Maybe they can bring the water to a rolling boil to eliminate all of the silt.

The flooding currently sits at row 8 ... "it is a total loss on the event level."
"If you were a hockey player walking out onto the ice, you would be underwater"
