I think someone should make him pay and not let him off the hook easily. I mean its one thing if you somehow 'get caught' in a watchdog issue, but a whole other when you're claiming a fifth goalie off waivers and need cash. Just my opinion.

I actually don't need the cash at all. It just makes it easier. If I waive John Mitchell (Done) and buy out Hannan, and remove one prospect from my pro team somehow (Buyout someone), then I'll be fine.
Also yes, I do have a large amount of goalies. That's because the asking price for a starter when you don't have one is beyond high. Normally I'd have maybe 5 goalies between the two teams , not 11 or whatever I have.

Also, it's a bit different. I wouldn't have claimed him if Harding wasn't the best starting goalie in the NHL to start the season statistically. Frankly I was shocked that there weren't 29 claims on him, especially when I know I wasn't #1 on the waiver claim list. So I was caught a bit off guard getting him.
I also don't understand the idea of not offering anything at all when you would have leverage in a trade negotiation. I have not received any offers at all, even ridiculous ones, other than a single tire kicker on one of the goalies (that wouldn't even fix the cap problem so what's the point). I am always fair in trade negotiations, so I don't understand the approach of nobody offering anything.
I know I said I'd give 1.5X premium, but like everything it is open to negotiations. I don't know why anyone wouldn't at least be curious on how they could take advantage of a situation to improve their team.

First, let me say its a game so its nothing personal at all, just to be clear!
Thing is you claimed a goalie and didn't need one. I know I could shuffle things and help you out, and I'm sure others could as well. I just think if someone dives in and gives you a deal on day one they can do better. Let a watchdog warning come your way and see if the price for relief doesn't get a little better, that's all. I just don't think giving you an easy way out right after you win the claim is sensible.

Not only what Slava suggests but...one injury to your forward/def ranks and you will be in disaster mode juggling lousy players in and out trying to fill holes. Thats when you lose the ability to have an advantage in trades...teams see you have a need that has to be addressed.

You don't need a 4th line when injuries occur, just adjust the ice time of your 2nd and 3rd lines and you should be fine for a short while. Plus if necessary, there's always waivers.

I'm not arguing with you at all, I do deserve to be in a pickle from my claim and I knew that going in (although not a big one as I can get out of it easily, it'll just cost me my #6 d-man. Not the preferred route, but it is an option. Plus realistically wouldn't you trade Hannan + John Mitchell for Harding?)
It's just strange to see that nobody was being opportunistic to try and see if I might take a 2.5X cap deal or get me throw in a decent prospect like Almqvist or McKegg in addition to the cap or something really. Maybe even try to pick off one of my forwards like Morrow, or even Hannan.
I know that teams do need stuff, that's why I was a little surprised. Most times when I post anything, other than buyout ready prospects, in the trade section I get a few tire kickers, I just wasn't expecting to get no response when the opportunity to get the better end of a deal was readily available. It's the exact type of situation that I have taken advantage of many times already.

Hannan is available. I'll throw in 5.25 mil in cap for free. If you need cheese space, that'll help a lot.

Horton is now a Blue.

Thomas Kopecky (68) James Reimer (81) and Bryce Salvador (72) are all available
Looking for a young defenseman who is at or near the NHL level. Would also be looking for a 2nd line LW

Cap problem solved now, do not have to do anything more.
I would like to exchange Michael Hutchinson for a 4th round pick. He's currently getting the Ortio treatment (starting in the ECHL) rather than backing up in the AHL. He has decent stats and has potential.

I would also like to acquire a 5th/6th defenseman and a 4th line center preferably.
I am open to ideas.

I want to clear some AHL spots. If you need/want bodies, those could be had for very little.

Would entertain moving Drouin or Trouba in a deal if I was getting a stud player that helps right now in return. No interest in veteran players on big $ deals. RFA aged players only really.
