Very true, but this did not come to light 20 minutes ago. It's been talked about since i woke up at 7:30 pacific. That's 4 hours.
Right now i think they are doing a little more than getting a "consistent message" together.

Difference is that the Tallon mistake actually cost the team and Tallon had someone (Bowmen) internally positioning himself as a replacement. Neither of those two factors are at work here so the answer is "Probably".

Absolutely. I understand that this may be a new provision and not something there may be a precedent for, but as our GM I expect him and/or his staff to be at the forefront in understanding the new CBA as to being able to exploit technicalities and better position this team going forward.
This move shows that Feaster and/or his staff do not understand the new CBA, and although I'm a huge fan of the statistical movement allegedly going on it's just as important to have a "capologist" or a rigorous understanding of the cap to maximize this teams talent.
Additionally calling O'Reilly a franchise player is ludicrous. He's an excellent number 2 that is acceptable as a first line centre but he's not someone you build around. Losing a first and a third, having already lost a 2nd would leave us in awful condition....and although it's improving we're still weak going forward.

Maybe they'll think outside the box and bring in Todd Button...
I mean. you don't really expect the franchise to pull a 180 from the last 25 years?

Feaster is likely making a case to ownership right now to convince them that the core has to go. Sorry, just been listening to the morning show on 960 for the last couple hours and they have me convinced that the ship is sinking with the leadership core.

I will say this, Feater is EXTREMELY luckey.
Brad Richards, dodged a bullet. Ryan Smyth, dodged a bullet.
Tried to get Blake Comeau for 2 years, he would only take 1. Dodged a bullet. Tried to get Sarich signed for 2 years, dodged a bullet.
Had Ryan Murphy over Sven Baertschi, but Ryan Murphy was taken 1 spot before Baertschi... dodged a bullet and struck gold.
Now this...
Better to be luckey then good, I guess.

Feaster will comment once he meets with ownership and Ken King so they can tell him what to say. Something tells me there will be tons of talking and little responsibility taking.

Is it possible they are travelling right now? If they stayed overnight in Denver they may just not be back yet and therefore cant say anything at this point.
The FAN960 should be a gooder at 1.

To clarify things, he DID play at KHL at 21 Jan and here's video of this match as a proof. He is #37 in blue and you can see his name written in latinics on his back. You can also hear play-by-play man naming him at 6-46

(it was broadcasted on Russian free public TV so it's not pirate tape)

Don't know whether anyone deserves to get fired, but if anyone does Sherman should be at the top of the list.
Alienates a good young player nothing, ends up having to pay him more then the guy wants, and rushed to match.
Obviously no one knew this was coming, but if Sherman had been a little more patient...
He could have made the Flames wait 7 days, see what they looked like, decided how much a rusty ROR would have helped them, projected what picks they would have gotten...
and then this would have fallen into his lap.

No, I don't think he should be fired for trying to improve this team and I don't think this was fully his call/deal.

He should be, but he won't be and this place should be lots of fun when he isn't.

Well Rob Kerr is on the TEAM1040 right now and he says he just got into town, so they are back in Calgary now, so we should expect something from the organization soon I bet.
Kerr saying we are about to find out how much slack he (Feaster) had left in this organization.
