I should clarify that I have no problem with this type of control on shouting. Kicked out if shooting while player is addressing the ball or swinging

Yes. This is golf, not Nascar.

It was mildly amusing the the first time someone shouted "in the hole!" on a tee shot 15 years ago. Now it's just embarrassing. I cringe every time one of these idiots shouts "mashed potatoes" or some other nonsensical thing after a shot.

The Masters is the best tourney to watch because they do not tolerate this nonsense. The US Open used to be my favourite major to watch but Augusta has really pulled ahead of the USGA in terms of their overall TV presentation.

That's not a bad idea either.

You heard next to no yelling during the Open Championship.

Kick them the hell out.

As an aside, I am waiting for Basketball fans to all go completely quiet when the opposition is throwing a free throw, only to sound a horn just as they are shooting. Seems that would be way more effective than the mayhem approach.

Nice scorecard for DeLaet: par, par, bogey, triple, par, eagle...

Solid start to the playoffs for DaLeat. Should finish top 7 here, so that should give him a good shot getting into the final tourney.

Even better. Delaet will finish T2.

Amazing how many bullets Scott dodged in the last hour.

Tiger was clearly annoyed when someone from CBS kept asking him if he would be playing next week.

Graham Delaet is now ranked 48th in the world, which will allow him to play in all four majors next year, though he has hold onto that spot. Again though if he falls out of the top 50, he's 7th in the FedEx Cup Standings right now, and is nearly a lock to make it to the Tour Championship (top 30 qualify) which automatically gets him into all the majors next year.

And right now he holds down that final spot for the Presidents Cup in October as he is ranked 10th on the International team with one week to go before its named. Him, Tim Clarke, Marc Leishman and Brendan De Jonge will be battling out this weekend for that final spot on the team.

I kind of miss angry Tiger.

This Tiger who is trying to keep his emotions in check comes across as whiny .now and then

Daleat with a 62 today to get himself in third place going into tommorrows final round. He's also in good shape for the Presidents Cup team. Hopefully he can have another good round tomorrow.

DaLeat ends up finishing 3rd. Played better than his score, but his putting was not good today. He had two lip outs, missed a short one on 14, and had another handful of makeable birdie putts.

He was in 10th place before this event and placed higher than anyone else eligible for the International team. So I would have to think he made it.

Delaet has worked himself into the top 5 in the FedEx Cup, which if he can mantain going into the Tour Championship allows him the chance to win it all...which seems kinda wrong doesn't it? Tiger has 5 wins, several guys have 2, and Delaet can win the whole thing and the $10 million just by winning the Tour Championship. Probably need to make some tweeks to the system.

It's for television. They don't want NBC showing the TOUR Championship and having someone already clinch the title like in Formula One or something. They want playoffs, the #1 seed can lose, there can be a Cinderella etc...

It's kind of a made up thing anyways.

If my math is right he could potentually win it all with two second place finishes, that's if the bottom feeders win the next 2 and the other top guys crap the bed...that would be crazy.

I'd assume that any golfer would cash the $10 million dollar cheque, but I'd have to think it would gnaw a little bit at a competitive person if they won the championship, without winning any of the four lead up events.

Sort of like the home team getting into the memorial cup when they get eliminated along the way.
