Arsenal should still be a very good team, especially if they can keep Song.
It's looking as though he'll be leaving. As long as we replace him with a true holding mid, I'll be as pleased as punch. Although I do love his occasional Hollywood pass, I'd prefer it if the defensive mid concentrated on defending and let the other two attempt the theatrics.

never done it at club level, hasn't been great for country in a few years as well (and he likely just lost his spot)
Hopefully the Emirates will be an environment where he can thrive and Wenger a manger that can help him achieve his potential; fingers crossed.

He probably heard that RvP did his ankle during his unveiling photo shoot...

You couldn't possibly be so clinically disillusioned to compare the actual clubs?
Which is why it's easy to correlate your resentment of each teams fans.
Liverpool HATES Manchester.
Flames HATE Canucks
Wow. Are you seriously this thick? Okay son, I'll hold your hand and walk you through it:
It has nothing at all to do with fans, I made a point stating that selling van Persie to United would be akin to the Flames trading Iginla to the Canucks, with no return.
You see the comparison?
Arsenal have sold van Persie and received in return no competitive assistance. I compared this to trading Iginla for nothing. In each instance a star player is given to a rival team with no competitive return hence the comparison.
Furthermore these are two teams that compete directly against one another. The Flames/Canucks are in the same division, they play many games against one another, competing for a playoff spot. Arsenal/United are competing for the same trophies and could play many games against each other?
In this way you see that a team has moved a star to a rival at their own detriment.
In no way were fans even entered into the equation in any way, that was your own 'clinical disillusionment.'
Are we clear now? Having to explain the whole thing took all of the fun out of it.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Liverpool = Edmonton. Both are current failures living on past wins.
Man City = Vancouver
Chelsea = Toronto (ya ya, perhaps different recent performances)
Completely agree with these.
For me also:
Man United = Montreal. Great history of winning, but still can't stand them.
Arsenal=Calgary. Always trying to be competitive, but falling a little short.

Where in there did I say anything at all about the fans? Even look at Winsor_Pilates, hes referring to club histories to make a comparison to hockey teams.
Any comment that I made that you think refers to fans is all on you.

So much fail ..... first comparing a sale to a trade.
And then doesn't even consider that Wenger mightn't have had an option.
And then considers that 24 odd million quid = "no return".

They must not teach basic reading comprehension and logical deduction in school in Manchester.
First of all, you didnt consider that I didnt have a choice? There are no 'sales' in hockey, so I compared it another way.
Secondly, Wenger's options are unknown and so I didnt comment on them, but I'm certain lots of teams were interested in Van Persie's services.
Finally, note, and I was very specific; 'no competitive return.' If he buys something with that money then that will be a different story, so far he hasnt, so as far as on-field personnel are concerned United have improved and Arsenal have regressed.

There is zero to comprehend in your post. It's a load of mumbo jumbo.

It is not a comparison. Well I suppose it is if you want to compare it to something that has zero comparison value. Like ... you know ... apples and oranges.

If you're so certain ... name them and consider that Arsenal had a rigid 20M+ asking price.

Arsenal regressed the moment VP said he wanted out. Today they gained a competitive return in the form of cold hard cash for a player that wanted out. A lot more cold hard cash than other teams were prepared to offer.
Wenger did ok .... considering his hand was forced.
