Point is. they all did it..and that means everyone near the top..It was part of the sport...who the f#$k cares?

I'm willing to bet his sponsors and his charity effing cared.
So why even test for doping at the Tour de France? Just let everyone do it. I'm sure there are health risks but who gives an eff. Just win! winn!!

thank god this is over... now even his defending have to stop trying to explain away all the evidence against him.
Guys like Lance, and I mean the guys that become stars and make millions of dollars off of endorsements, are the guys that have ruined a beautiful sport. All the domestiques taking EPDs are just barely hanging on to being a professional.
When the reward of taking is rolling the dice you'll never get caught during competition then you'll have people pulling a Carl Lewis.
Should have won his 5 Tours and then shut his yap, instead of slapping everyone in the face with the 7 titles to blow away all the guys prior to him.
Good riddance.

You take ephedrine pills everyday or you take medication that includes ephedrine? Those are different things. Dosage is obviously going to change reaction, just like 2 advils makes you feel a bit better while 10 can make you feel numb.

Seriously this is the most doped sport and always has been, you can argue Lance is a jerk if you will but he has done bugger all to bring down the high standards off cycling.

That's the problem, they didn't test! or at least test to find someone guilty.
The guy won 7 strait tours and wasn't caught and very few others were caught either. everyone close to the top were doping and everyone else knew it.
Nobody wanted to catch anyone, the sport was on a high in the 90's,sponsorship was great, ratings in Europe were at an all time high. Fact is everyone wanted to beat Armstrong but if he was beat because of doping then the whole sport would suffer along with the estimated $300 million euros bet every year on the race.

note I said guys like him, meaning all cheaters.
The notion that just because a lot of riders/teams have cheated before means its ok for Lance to cheat? Sorry, doesn't wash.
Ethics should never be based on equivalency.
ps, Lance did more than cheat - he bullied and ruined people's lives and reputations. He basically torpedoed Greg LeMond's reputation and deal with Trek.
Your continued attempt to rationalize his actions is ____________. I'll let others fill in the blanks, because I can't say what I would like to.

I kept looking for mainstream media/news/analysis that took the other side after the recent batch of damning evidence. I couldn't find much (which is kinda unusual on the internet these days). Maybe that says something I guess?
Pardon the pun, but it is sad that he took everybody on this ride claiming innocence the whole time. Marion Jones was the previous higher profile one that made me shake my head as well. So disappointing all around.
Now I just wonder if he'll end up in jail (perjury?) Court most certainly though.

If you are talking cycling, it has always been a filthy sport. In fact I think the first winner ever of the Tour de France was stripped for drugs.

Rubbish, in sport ethics are based on all kinds of rules writen and unwriten and in cycling drug use was always considered part of the sport, much like fighting is part of hockey.

I do an EC stack everyday. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECA_stack 3 8 mg pills and a caffein pill. The only reaction I get is from the caffeine pills since I am not a coffee drinker.

The U.S. government is now joining Landis' lawsuit. A lot of his sponsers are looking at trying to get money back.
Armstrong is in huge trouble here financially.
If he hadn't been since a d$$che bag he might have been allowed to fade into obscurity, now he's going to be made an example.

I'm speaking from a ton of very stupid experience.
Back in my crazier days I used to take them before sports and I used to also take them as a party drug on occasion. The kick you feel from popping one or two is hardly enough for me to consider it "cheating". Once you pass one or two you start getting into a more euphoric high which would make your performance in sports a lot worse.
Atleast, from my personal past experience with the stuff.
(by they way it's pretty bad for you to take it regularly, probably the stupidest thing I did in my life was take it recreationally like I did)

Hopefully Barry Bonds, Roger Clemons and Sammy Sosa watch the interview. Coming clean is always better than living a lie.
Knowing that Lance Armstrong cheated has made me lose respect but some has been gained back by admitting he cheated and coming clean. Good on him to admit his mistake and hopefully he can move on.
