Sorry but you're stupid if you don't have a case on it. I have a commuter case on my Samsung Galaxy 1, and despite dropping it numerous times, there is nothing wrong with it.

No, she did not have a case. It was basically brand new, and was going to get a case shortly. Quotes seems like it's around $250-$300 to replace the screen. Was hoping that someone would know a better solution!

I'm planning on getting this phone in the next few weeks here. I do have one question about the difference between the 16gb and the 32gb.
The price difference is about $50. For $25 I can get a 16gb micro SD card and bring the 16gb up to 32. To me it seems there is a catch. Can I assume that the internal memory is faster? Easy enough to get around I imagine, just store photo's and msic on the SD card and everythign else on the internal memory.
Does that make sense or am I out in left field?

If you get a Class 10 Micro SD card, you won't notice a speed difference. I have a class 4 and there is virtually no delay when accessing music, photos or videos.

The dirty little secret in the electronics industry is that increasing the memory capacity of a device costs the manufacturer very little yet results in the biggest profits. Go with the external card.

Ok, I googled around afterwards and that seemed to be the conclusion. I'm not sure why I don't just google first.
I suppose it's because there are plenty here with first hand experience and in general a lot of smart ppl who's(whose?) opinion I feel like I can rely on.

Only thing that comes to mind is Google Now but that will take a week of "learning" by Google before you see any results.
Other than that, here's a list. Post #52

Awesome man, thanks. Yeah I can't wait until Google Now starts telling me how to live my life better. It sounds pretty cool.

Anybody who upgraded to JB on the S3 notice that the display isn't quite filling the screen?
It's hard to tell if it is just in my head or if something is different. It's like a fraction of an inch border around the display.
It just strangely feels like the display became a tiny bit smaller.

I didn't notice that, but I did notice my battery dying really fast after updating to JB. I'm not sure if it's cause Google Now is hammering my data connection or if it's something else. I couldn't make it a day < 10hrs without having to find a plugin.

Unfortunately it seems like that's a common problem with Google Now constantly polling for your location and whatnot. :S

I've noticed this as well, it's like one mm of black surrounding the edges. Odd.

Just got one of these, pretty sweet phone. Still getting used to the size and the different buttons on the bottom. I have version 4.04 is there any compelling reason to upgrade the OS? I use the phone almost entirely for business and it's working flawlessly so I'm reluctant to change anything.

The update will come soon enough, so if its a business phone, I would just leave it.

Wooot soooo awesome. Get up this morning. S3 asks me if i want to update. Click yes, go take a shower, come out and i'm now running JELLY BEAN!
I'm with Wind and i don't think any of their non-google phones ever did this type of update.
