I'm just glad I didn't bet this weekend. Kudos to the Ravens for exacting payback.

Probably more geared towards the idiocy of thinking we can go with a bunch of no name players at receiver and win. Dropped balls left and right, garbage again. These receivers are a disgrace, just because the coach is going to be calling a more wide open offense, you still need some resemblance of talent to make plays.

Jason Smith sucks as well, 2nd overall pick 60 million contract, and he can't even play left tackle. Who spends a 2nd overall pick on a RT.

I figured the Chiefs were likely to come back to average this year, but that was just ridiculous. Suddenly 8-8 seems like a stretch when you have a home opener against the Bills and get completely owned.

I also thought that the pre-season didn't matter, but at this point it looks like foreshadowing at least...

Happy Bills fans, Bengals fans, and Lion fans.

This is a rather rare thing for our group of fans.

Same old Browns. Maybe they are hoping for some Luck.

Who cares about the outcome anymore? With all this incompetence, why is anybody still surprised? The entire organization has been an embarrassment and a mess for years. What's the answer? Who cares, as long as I can paint my body orange and party til I puke? THat's what football in Cleveland is all about! Bring me another beer!

This KO from the 35-yard line rule might not be a bad thing. Ball gets to the returner faster and even if they're 6-7 yards deep, they can run and accelerate untouched for nearly 15 yards. Plus the coverage might relax a bit thinking the runner won't come out.

It may lead to more returns for TDs. It'll be interesting to see at the end of the season compared to last season. I saw two today.

-----

Also, NFL team with the longest regular season active winning streak? That would be the Lions. Make your apocalypse plans accordingly.

I cant dispute that it seems like there have been a lot of great KO returns thus far, but this statement makes no sense to me...unless the kickers arent kicking off as high or as deep, which makes zero sense, i cant understand what else would have the ball getting to the returner any quicker than before.

Also...just noted on NBC that McNabb had 39 yds passing today.

Yikes.

its quite simple really, the kicks that will be returned now are by definition shorter. Or in other works, the average hang time on any kick returned this year will be less than past years. Last year, both short and medium kicks would get returned. Now, the medium ones are not returned.

It makes sense to me that of the kicks chosen to be run back, more will get returned for a TD. But it won't tell you why you have a higher absolute number. I think the reason for that is because nobody has practice in kick coverage because all preseason the coverage would run down the field just to watch the returner kneel it down.

I was thinking the same thing. Just one week but I'm very happy with how weak Atl looked.

What was more surprising? The Falcons or the Bills?

The Bills put up 41 points! It would take like 4 games for them to get 41 points.

Biggest surprise for me was the performance of Cam Newton. 422 yards passing accurate passes, 2 touchdowns. I didn't think he would be very good, but then again he did play the Cardinals.

Technically (I believe) Tampa and Carolina are tied for 1st with NO in 3rd.

Bills, the Falcons Lost on the road to a team who were in the NFC championship game last year. Bills put up 41 point s against a team who should not be this much worse on defense.
