Yeah, I suppose the "SSP" abbreviation is esoteric. If I were to change it to Skyscraperpage, I think that's fairly descriptive of the content even if you don't know what or where Skyscraperpage is.

Lots of spots available that should fit that bill. It's just that it may not be right next to your destination, nor will it be underground.

Seriously though, I think people are really going to like this mystery tower when it gets revealed. I haven't been privy to any renderings but from what I know I think it is going to be a great addition to the core.

Did SSP not know that the Mawer building was slated for demo? I knew that a month ago! (I lurk the Calgary Construction thread all the time, but I haven't made an account.)

I'm gonna say depends on your angle. From the South/East it should be quite visible. From the most of the northern viewpoints it would be blocked by the Bow or Suncor (Petro-Canada). West would depend on height (which I don't know) and precise angle. The angles from East and a bit South are already pretty awesome, and the Arts Central tower should fit in nicely if you're not too far South. From right to left you'll get the Bow, Suncor, Arts Central, 225 6th (Herald Square), Calgary Tower, Bankers Hall (both), Eight Avenue Place (both), all pretty much distinct and unobstructed. Husky tends to hide behind the Vic Park condos though.

Isn't the Elveden Centre on that block? I'm surprised it's economic to tear that down.

Next block to the east - where the Mawer tower is now across from CityTV.

Ah ok, that makes more sense. I assume it'll be the Mawer building and the steakhouse getting torn down? I should have checked the address myself, I seem to be getting in the habit of just assuming whatever Frink says is correct...
