Does anyone know if Tacos Mexico on Memorial is shut down?

Rolled up last night at 6 and it was closed down, no sign, and called the phone and it was disconnected.

That would be a huge loss as it is one of the only real authentic Mexican places in Calgary. If it was closer to my house I would eat there very frequently.

That’s too bad. Only place in that end of town with a decent patio.

From a pub to a daycare... quite the transition.

Selkiirk Grille and Bitter Sisters patios are decent IMO.

I spend a lot of time on the Bitter Sisters patio. But it overlooks a gross parking lot and Heritage station. It was nice to ride your bike around the res and chill on the 1600 patio away from cars and traffic.

You guys got me curious about this Tacos Mexicos now! How good are we talking here? Is it "good for Calgary" or actually something that could reasonably stack up against what you get in the California/Mexico.

I like it

As did my co-worker

He is Mexican, like real Mexican born and raised.

He been in the US 5yrs.

Not only did he say it “tastes like home” but the presentation on the two dishes we had were “just like home “

We had Enmoladas and Red Enchiladas.

Yeah they’re about as authentic as it gets. I’ve only ordered from the Memorial location but it’s good to hear the other one will remain open.

The only other Mexican place that I thought was as good an authentic closed a long time ago. I don't remember the name but it was on Stephen Ave and in the basement under the McDonald's, more or less.

Bodega on 10th Street in Kensington is great and, I'd say, pretty authentic.

Well if a Mexican/American likes it, then that's good enough for me. And the fact that it's not just tacos/burritos is a plus for sure.

I guess I'm just a little jaded from all the "amazing" Mexican places people talk about, and then it never seems to measure up to what's down south. Kind of like BBQ.

Saying Only is always bold, I bet if you crowd sourced you could find 3-4.

Oh really? That’s brutal. I knew they were closing it earlier this summer, but I didn’t realize it was for a daycare. I was thinking another restaurant would swoop in there. I guess the landlords (RioCan) are brutal to deal with though.

Any bbq you’d recommend here? I’ve had some amazing stuff when I’ve travelled but Canada doesn’t seem to get it right.

Funny how you missed bolding the previous two words of my statement which changes the meaning completely. By saying "one of the only" I am indicating that there are a selection of places and this is one of them.
