Ok, go to the current thread, the first ask by a Leafs fan is Sergachev. Do you think Nylander is worth Sergachev?

He'd be a solid number 5

He’s a top 100 D and would be top 4 on most teams. He’d be top 2 on Toronto, Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal, NYI, NYR and probably a few others.

I agree for hockey reasons, Nashville might have to throw in a late pick. However after taking cap into account I think one for one is actually more than fair. Nylander is going to be overpaid, Ekholm is on a sweetheart deal.

For me Justin Faulk for Nylander makes a lot of sense for both teams. That is why it won't happen.

Ekholm is not sheltered

Nashville basically has two sets of top-2 D pairings

If i was TO , i would be calling the Ducks and trying to get something involving Lindholm for Nylander. Have to think Ducks need a replacement for Perry. Lindholm would be cost controlled for a few more years.

But Faulk is a UFA after next year. The Leafs will not have a lot of cap space after next year. However, right now Faulk's cap hit is quite reasonable.

I’m all for merit but here’s a kid who has the talent but can’t get out of his own head. I would gift him - yes, gift him - 20 games in the top 6 as a chance to earn some confidence. There’s obvious downside to this but the upside is helping turn back into a more productive player. Instead they’re doing the opposite and shrinking his role.

Never going to happen on this team, he probably needs to be sent to a bottom feeder to rebuild his career.

Reilly is off to a great start, so BigTuna had to find a way to make sure we all knew that.

They can make it work cap wise actually with a few minor tweaks.

Isn’t that more of a commentary on the weakness of the Leafs D compared to the strength of the Predator’s?

See Oilers Klefbom or Larssen.

It can be, but why assume someone can accomplish the same when they have never proven it?

Nashville needs more scoring. There's no cup with those forwards.
