Honestly the vault games are still a decent deal depending on if you are into old sports games but the other perks seem a little misleading

Its 6 hrs of the full game though no? Will give you an idea if you want to purchase it or not. Seems fine to me. Do you think they will give 5 full days of a new game? Some games could be finished in that amount of time. Its not misleading either, it said from the start "limited time" with full game early.

For comparison. PS+ gives full game trials, 1 hr limit. Oh the humanity. That internet nerd rage tho.

Many people thought they would give you the game 5 days early if you pre-ordered it but even if you pre-order you get 6 hours. I didn't expect them to just hand over

Don't think I would download a 40GB game just to try it, what is annoying to me is that they killed the Madden demo for this (IE the paid demo)

Then there is the 10% discount that pays for the service...well kinda. But if you buy a hard copy of the game you can surely sell it for more than 10% of value in the end. Also, you can get better deals with pre-orders anyway or by waiting a couple weeks games always go on sale.

The vault is the only thing worthwhile in my opinion...I would probably go for it if I didn't already have most of the games. If they add more games I would likely subscribe to be honest so don't think I'm just hatin'


I pre-ordered NHL 15 for 30% off and I didnt pay a cent to have that privilege...I also have a game I can sell for $30 in the spring

Season ticket was great, I'm not sure why it didn't carry over to XB1/PS4. Playing Madden/NHL over the weekend before it was released was always nice.

Thats subjective imo. Not the sales part but which is better. I have both and prefer my X1, I think overall its a more robust and feature rich machine. I hate the OS on the PS4, hated it on PS3 too, even though I mostly gamed on PS3 prior to this gen. Its all personal preference though, people arguing over that is stupid, its not fact.

I should probably put this in the main VG thread but with EA access, I have to imagine Ubisoft and Activision and maybe Blizzard are looking at how it pans out.

I'm not sure I want to be running subscriptions via Live, PS+, EA Access, etc. all at the same time. Certainly have the choice to go or not go but taking it further, I wonder how long until content/DLC becomes locked behind that subscription wall too (or maybe I am over thinking it).

Its possible. Season passes for games is the norm now it seems.

1. It isn't cheaper. I agree, they should be cheaper, but I usually only pay full price for new games. Often I get older games when they are on sale or discounted. I don't think the install size is any different for digital or disc. Anyway, I just picked up a 1TB external HD for my Xbox one and am good to go for a long time. With regards to gifting etc, its no different than steam and I'm fine with that. I would prefer all my content to be digital to be honest. It would be nice if they could offer some trade in or something down the road. That may have been part of their original plan before everyone went ape ####, who knows.

Meh, you're no angel yourself. This whole thread is two-team circle-jerk. It's not even interesting or entertaining anymore.

As zedge said, 'better' can encompass many different things (more/better features, performance, what titles are available and which ones you like, etc.), meaning literally everyone will have a different yardstick by which they measure which console is better for them.

The sales figures being what they are now makes further discussion about it borderline meaningless as a consumer - neither one of these consoles is the Atari Jaguar in this race, they aren't about to go away any time soon. So yeah, using sales figures as your reasoning that one console is objectively better than the other is meaningless fanboy tripe. It's probably the least convincing argument one can muster.

Funny thing about digital being more expensive. Diablo 3 was $59.99 on the xbox store. Its $64.99 at BB and FS retail.. lol

Although Titan Fall is also currently $25 digital and MGS is $17.50 digital for gold. I actually traded my TitanFall disc in for $30 and re-bought it digital. Close to no discs now.

Best Buy has the Xbone with Kinect, Thief, Lego Movie and Forza 5 for 499 as part of their 4 day sale (won't be around tomorrow?). Only 19 left online but can find it in store as well.

I'd never buy digital while the option of trade-in exists. Right now I pretty much buy all my games through pre-order sales ($50) and then trade them in after I'm done with them (Usually $30). So it works out to around $20 per game at the end of the day. Can't beat it.

I buy almost all of my games digital for $5-$15 and get to keep them. So yes, you can beat that.
