I wouldn't call Florida flooded... but Colorado definitely has a few.
Colorado's problem is defense, something that Jones can help with big time.

Pretty sure the key to being a winner is to have depth at all positions. :P

I wouldn't make that deal if I were them but I guess they would listen.
Perhaps all those guys and a draft pick might be enough to get them to trade a top pick but doesn't really seem realistic to me for Calgary to offer it.

In FLA's case, They have a lot of centers with little NHL experience. I think Goc, Weiss, Fleishmann and Matthias were the only ones this year with any previous NHL time. Matthias being the one with the fewest. Then they have their kids who played as well this year.
Bjugstad, Shore and Howden are the young centers.
they have a very good shot at finding good Balance next season within the group they have without grabbing MacKinnon and getting Drouin in the fold.

I would say Florida has 0 number 1 centers on the team and likely 0 guys in the system.
Far from being flooded with them.

I would see if we cant tempt Carolina with Glencross +Stl Pick. It seems to fit their needs on wing. and would give us 5,6 picks back to back and then pitts 1st still later.
We could grab Lindholm/Monahan + Nichushkin and then hopefully a later round D. Also we would likely suck next year without Glencross's goals which i wouldnt mind if we have 1 more season of high picks.

Ultimately I think the choice between Lindholm and Monahan will be made for the Flames so they don't have to choose. I would not be surprised to see Lindholm go to Carolina and put on the wing just as Skinner was drafted as a centre and immediately put on the wing. I also don't see Carolina trading the pick for an already established player since they did that last year to get Jordan Staal and the prospect pool has been a hot topic of conversation in the media.
Colorado - Jones
Florida - MacKinnon
Tampa Bay - Drouin
Nashville - Barkov
Carolina - Lindholm
Calgary - Monahan
Edmonton - Who cares

We have to remember Glencross has a no trade clause and based on his comments there is no indication that he’ll waive.

What makes everything here think CAR will take Nichushkin?

Any interest in Ryan Pulock of the Brandon Wheat Kings with the STL pick?

For me it's no sure thing, but the Semin factor coupled with the fact that they have great C depth and the fact that he could be the best player in the draft.
They would have to take a hard look at him, but I could see them wasting another center on the wing as teams are wont to do.

My point is the reason they are so bad even with those guys is these guys don't play 60 minutes a night. For the 40 or so minutes they aren't on the ice they are team that couldn't beat a midget AAA team. Hence, they lose a ton of games

The Semin factor?
The fact that they have Semin makes me think that they would have more reason NOT to draft him. Why have two players that are of the same skill set?
I would think Nurse or Monhan is a better fit for them.

Well if there really is an "elite 4", then many teams will want to know what it would take to move up. Might be bit of a seller's market. Whether it's worth it for the Flames or any other team depends entirely on the price.

If I were the Flames I would not worry too much about moving up to 4 - rather I would try to upgrade one of the later picks to get to the 10-13 range.
Use the 6th pick for a quality prospect with a high chance of success - Lindholm or Monahan.
Use the 10-12 pick for a guy with immense ceiling how may drop - Shinkaruak (sp), Nishkushin (sp), etc.
The advantage of having multiple picks is the opportunity to swing for the fences on one of them.

Also.......I have a feeling Nurse is going to go a lot higher than people are predicting.
I would not be shocked to see Yzerman or Rutherford take him.

Would ~#29 and ~#24 get you something between #10-#13?
I would love to leave this draft with one of Monahan/Lindholm and Ristolainen.

The 6th pick, plus the St.Louis pick (maybe even the Pittsburgh pick instead of Blues pick) is enough to move up 2 spots IMO.
The Preds are also without a 2nd round pick this year, so by moving down two spots they could pick up a late first as well, and still end up with one of Lindholm, Monahan, Nurse or Nichushkin.

The interest thing with Lindholm is that he's planning on staying Europe for another year. Some of these teams may want the help right away and avoid him. The Russian is under contract for two years and everyone seems to think he'll drop miles but it seems a non-factor with Lindholm.
