Any bets on who the first main character to die is?
I hope not, but a character like Maggie getting killed would be what the show is all about. Anyone, anywhere could be killed off.

Look at who is "happiest". They will have tough times soon. Glenn and Maggie are great candidates.

Yeah my money is one one of those two, most likely Glen. He hasn't really done a whole lot recently aside from getting with Maggie.

Carol is loving life right now. More than she should have a right too. Daryl won't be killed off but he did crack a smile as well... They need to fix that. The conflict potential is high there! Good call!

I dont think it could be contamination either as i am pretty sure they have swallowed a lot of blood as it gets splattered all over the faces.

I like the premise of this season and think it could be fun. Though that first episode was a whole lot of filler and characters we've known for 5 minutes getting killed off.. soo..big whoop? Really wasn't great and didn't move the plot forward at all except for a possible sickness getting in.
I also like that they didn't kill of the Governor at the end of last season. But the "climax" battle was more than a little underwhelming. They dropped the ball, there. He needs to come back to make things interesting and by all accounts he'll be back in the game later this season.
I'm just hoping for some actual likeable/intriguing characters to show up. My biggest issue with this show is that I simply couldn't care for most of the characters, as they all grind on me a little in different ways. Rick just seems like a mess, and never bothers to actually work anything out. Just seems like he's eternally struggling / in anguish. And his moral compass is all over the place. Carl is just a drama queen who tries to do more than he should. Glenn is also a drama queen who can never seem to regain his dignity since his little conflict with Merle, despite having a smoking hot farm girl on his arm (pfft). Carol is just Carol, who's basically some innocent woman trying to be more like Darryl, but there' really nothing to her. Although there's at least some consistency with her character. Hershel is like Rick's little white angel perched on his shoulder, and really doesn't serve any other purpose anymore, so his character provides zero intrigue or substance. Darryl is actually a decent character with consistency throughout the show. He was just looking out for himself in the beginning, but unlike his brother he is learning to care for others, and now he's become like the guarded family man. But he's still badass and stays true to his character despite the changes he's undergone. Tyrese is just a sensitive girl in a butch black dude's body, and hasn't shown any backbone since he was introduced. I can't even think of others except for the other farm girl, probably cause the rest are so insignificant or just aren't interesting at all. I actually liked Milton last season, he was interesting. But so much for that..
Anyways, point being.. they need some new/better characters to really grab my interest this season. Or bring back the Governor, cause he instantly makes the show better.

I am guessing that the virus has spread to some animals, probably swine, and mutated there and has the ability to kill people now. When Jim was scratched but not bitten he developed that crazy fever.
Did Rick finish the Irish girl off (that's what she said...) or leave her to turn? If he left her will that come back to haunt him ala Carl/Dale?

Why did they twice zoom in on that one specific zombie at the fence? At first I thought it was a character we were supposed to know but I didn't recognize him at all. It seemed as though they were focusing on his eyes, which looked similar to the kid who turned at the end.

Necrophilia? I am not basing this on any statistical reasoning, but in a scenario where a corpse would come back to life and eat your face, I believe that rates of necrophilia would go down. I am actually guessing there would be no necrophilia. Again, only basing this on the fact that you'd be killed doing it, practictioners would eventually become extinct.
Along the lines of other weird questions about the show - how come the walkers don't actually kill, permanently, the humans they eat? Given the voracity of a walker's appetite, and the limited amount of human flesh to eat, a group should be able to devour a person in no time and finish off the brain, thus preventing the person from turning. Yet, for some reason the walkers don't completely finish up eating the the humans they caught, for example Otis.

Otis was completely torn up, he wasn't coming back from that zombie or no. The general consensus is that a horde of zombies will devour a person if they're able to, but a single zombie probably couldn't finish the job before the person turned.

I'm hoping we see some cannibalism soon. It's probably too early in the "zombie apocalypse" for survivors to resort to that, but when that women covered in dirt led Rick to her camp I thought that could be what he'd run into.
Now who knows how far AMC can do if they venture into cannibalism, but heads in fishtanks makes me think it could be a possibility.

^^That's exactly what I thought, that Rick was walking into a cannibal ambush. Especially when she was talking about not being able to come back from the things you've done.
