Just to prove that the Black Eyed Peas were a real hip hop group at one point in their history, and not complete sellouts, I present the time just before they met Fergie. It's the year 2000, so you it may sound a little old school, but it's just honest hip hop to me.
Fergie made them famous, but ruined them at the same time. Listen to My Humps after this and tell me I'm wrong.

I don't know what it is about the Blue Album by Weezer, but it just feels like honesty. It's not a revolutionary audioscape, but, it does make one feel as if they're home. There's something honest about the music that I can't quite describe, and I keep coming back to it year after year.
It ain't the hits either. Those songs are fun or weird or whatever. To me the best tracks on the album would be considered filler. It's imperative to listen to this in sequence.
#### me...that drum intro at 6:45 in Only In Dreams still gives me chills. So sue me.

Five years ago today we were blessed with the absolute pinnacle of British engineering. Still one of the wildest (and best) music moments of the 21st century (or any century for that matter).

Who could ever hate the Beach Boys? If you know someone that hates them, ask them to watch these 4 videos back to back. If they still hate them? I don't think I'd want to know them. They're kind of like the person who doesn't like chocolate or dogs. You can't trust them.

What? That wasn't horrible, but mostly it was a mess of direction and chord progressions. Maybe I'm missing some irony or something?
I find that I have to revisit older music because there just isn't a lot of interesting stuff these days.
Here we have Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC to the fans), who released a few solid albums throughout the oughts and teens. But Howl is their best work IMO. It's a sound of rock that remembers the roots in blues and country. Here are a few samples to whet your palate.
