Anyone who follows the CFL, if you could give your opinion on him that would be appreciated.

He's Cameron Wake light, IMO. His motor never stops, a solid tackler, and has decent ball skills. My guess is he'll start as a pass rushing specialist from the linebacking corps but he could be a full time starter within the season. He's an absolute monster.

Very happy to see Caldwell out as head coach in Indy. The Colts needed a fresh start, and someone with a much stronger football IQ. I think it was a monumental mistake and he was certainly not ready to take over the Colts, SuperBowl favorites and a team full of veterans and pro-bowlers, as his first head coaching duty. Much like Playfair with the Flames, I don't like the idea of "grooming" an assistant over the years and handing everything over to him like that. The Colts have had some glaring holes in their game season after season that were not addressed by the coach or GM. Peyton Manning made up for all of that, and almost had an undefeated season and SuperBowl win with a truly awful defense, no offensive line and the leagues worst ranked running game. Caldwell was given the job because he had a relationship with Duny, Manning and a group of Colts players. With how soft this team has been year after year, it became glaringly obvious the needed a tough coach and someone who could crack a whip.
Will be interesting to see what direction the Colts take in looking for a head coach. A lot of big name candidates will be lining up to interview for this job if it includes 3-4 years with a healthy Peyton Manning. I'm not sure if those same coaches would be interested if the Colts go into full re-building mode and do not have Peyton Manning behind center next season.

Colts are talking with Steve Spagnuolo to become the defensive coordinator. Other teams such as the Eagles, Saints, and Falcons have talked to him too.

Just finished watching GM Grigson's press conference. Loving the Grigson hire so far. Absolutely great football mind from what I am hearing and seeing. Really excited to have this guy as GM and I am confident he will bring in the right coaching staff in and do the right thing for the franchise. Really excited about the future with Grigson as GM, the new head coach, and Luck coming on board.

Seems the Dolphins are down to Todd Bowles, Joe Philbin and Mike McCoy.

My biggest question regarding the whoever the Fins hire is, can he actually lead a group of men? Having a good resume as a coordinator is one thing but can they go into the room and lead the team?
Not sure if it was mentioned but Fins dc Mike Nolan has left the Fins for the same job in Atlanta. No surprise as Nolan's contract was up in Miami.

Cleveland to trade up to #2 to pick Robert Griffin III?
Quote:
The NFL Network predicts that the Browns will trade up two spots to No. 2 overall to take Griffin. "Cleveland needs Griffin -- and wants him," league sources told The NFL Network.
|
Quote:
But there have been mixed reports on whether Griffin would fit into Pat Shurmur's West Coast offense and whether the Browns are set at taking a quarterback with the fourth overall pick. There has been speculation that Cleveland might take Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon or LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne with that pick. And there's always the possibility that the Browns could trade out of the top 10 like they did last year.

So McCoy takes his name out of the running for the Oakland job because he thinks he is the front runner for Miami. So Denver fans, what can you tell me about McCoy?

Saints sign Steve Spagnuolo as their new DC. I'm pretty happy with that hire.
His Giants defenses always brought good pressure, and his Rams defense was young, but showed promise. This season, they held the Saints scoreless for a half while sacking Brees 6 times. The Saints could use results like that. Hopefully their personnel can adjust to the scheme.

To paraphrase the late Rodney Dangerfield, take our OC....please!
He got a lot of credit for playing a run option with Tebow but IMO is basically useless. Got way too conservative when faced with any adversity and gets credit for having the great genius to run the Meyer Utah/Florida offence with the one player who ran that thing to perfection.
His calling card should be that he was a McDaniels holdover who was CRAP when Orton was still in. Jeebus pray for you Fins fans if he does get your HC spot.
