Fantastic, I say.

I can see why the playoffs have been so unpalatable these past few years for a Jets fan. There is never really anything at stake once April comes around in Winnipeg.
As for the BoA, beating the Oilers in the playoffs would be great, but every year they do not make it in is still a reason for Flames fans to celebrate.

This is the team that seems to defy all odds. What were the odds of them winning 4 lotteries again? If anyone can do it, it is the Oilers.
I also think that an injury to Talbot or to McDavid will end their playoff aspirations. Not that I will root for injuries - even to that sad sack team - you have to admit that their hold on a playoff spot is more perilous than it appears.

Taylor Hall on the Oilers: "If they win the Cup, I'll be choked."
Everyone's favorite sportswriter, and I use that term loosely, is at it again.

Oh, and I don't think you'll have to worry about that, Taylor. They haven't even clinched a playoff spot yet and already morons are talking about a cup. Idiots!!

That's some solid editing I expect nothing less from the Staple of Sportswriters.

New Jersey Devils ace attacker Taylor Hall had a highly entertaining and informative interview on the “Spittin’ Chiclets” podcast for Barstool Sports Hall sat down with his the podcast co-host, his old Edmonton roomie, Ryan Whitney, to have a few chuckles and to commiserate about their time on the losing Oilers from 2010-2013, when Whitney was an Oiler.

Ha - that was actually a pretty entertaining read. Staples apparently does his best work when he's not producing his own content.

That podcast pretty much highlights the problems which plagued the Oilers management, it was an old boys club that had a fan as an owner who was enamored with the 80s.

Pretty entertaining interview so far. I'm only five mins in and he says they fixed his teeth pretty much upon arrival in NJ, and he jokes it didn't get done in edmonton because they didn't want to pay for it.
Ryan Whitney - "We just used to crack jokes about edmonton. God it's like 1970 up here. Holy ####, they're just getting music that was released three years ago in america" lol
Glenn Anderson was drunk and pumping Lady Gaga, and Hall chirped him. Lowe had to tell Anderson to stop partying with the 20 year olds.
This is gold.

Listening to an interview with Todd McLellan this morning on Edmonton am regarding the Deharnais trade. McLellan (honest to God) said that they felt defensive depth was a strength of the team so they could afford to make this trade for a skilled forward.
Delusional AND no good!

I didn't realize the Oilers had done that with brooks. Interesting. Brooks sold out 9 shows at say 15,000 people per show.
That is more than
New Jersey
Florida
Arizona
Carolina
NYI
do over 10 home games.

I heard some other delusional thoughts from ChiaPet during his presser today.
Says that he has spoken with the coach and they both agree that Talbot needs rest. They also think that Broissoit looks better in practice, and that there were plenty of goalies out there, but they don't need one. this seems short sighted to me. if Talbot gets injured...
Also announced a 3 year entry level deal for Ryan Mantha; an Niagara (OHL) player that was previously drafted by the Rangers in the 4th round. I don't know if this is no good or not.

i love the fact that the oilers think they are ok in goal... I think they have an issue, if Talbot goes down, they are boned

Talbot is on pace to play a minimum of 73 games, which is far and away more than any other goalie, and is among the most of any goaltender in the past decade.
The Oilers are boned no matter what.

I think you get the sense that it is pretty obvious that they haven't been through this playoff process in a while. Kind of telling when perennial playoff teams are getting depth dmen rather than selling them.

Maybe that is just it. Chia is just sitting back and thinking this is all gravy because it was beyond all his expectations for this year. Just the new organizational mentality of rolling the dice and seeing what happens. Its worked so far for them.

If Edmonton falls out and Iggy and the Kings get in. I'll be quite happy.
