What a throw by McGuire!
And the best the bullpen has been in a looong time.
Great win.

Wow, I gotta hand it to Chicken Strip, he's making me a believer. And hat's off to the FO for trading for him. It's crazy to think of how little the Jays gave up to get Ray, Matz and Stripling and they are turning into quite a strong set of starters. If they can all keep this up all year, hopefully the Jays can get Ray and Matz back on fair deals.
Good to see the bullpen have a strong outing too.

Nice to win a close game without absolutely sharting the bed when the bullpen comes in.
Alcantara completely nullified our lineup tonight. Springer had a rough one at the plate but that's to be expected after missing so much time. I'm so happy to have him back.
Finally.

From MLBPipeline:
21-year-old @BlueJays catcher Gabriel Moreno enters the Top 100 Prospects as Trevor Larnach graduates
How many good catchers do we have!?

That crop of players in AA right now, Martin, Moreno, Taylor, Groshans, Woods Richardson could have as much of an impact as the Vlad Bo Biggio Fisher Cat team. This is pretty cool time to be a Jays fan to see so many home grown players pushing their way into the majors. I remember that amazing 2015 team the only two batters that were a product of the Jays development system was Pillar and Goins.

I wouldnt expect to see many of them in Blue Jays unis though....those are the guys that will be traded to make the upgrades needed for the big team to become real contenders.

Lol you expect them to trade top five assets for rentals or what? (That list above is basically their top five minus Pearson) Atkins should be fired if any of those were traded for relief help. Dodgers, Yankees and Rays don’t trade their top assets for rentals/upgrades and you shouldn’t expect the Jays to do that either. Now can I see one of those being traded? Sure that probably will happen but many would be something that goes against this FOs operating procedure.

Yeah, they likely trade one of them for something like a big name starter, but they aren't moving most of them.

If you look at Darvish or Arenado trades you can see you can get those players without giving up top five prospects. Even Snell just brought back one of them. Do i see the Jays making a deal like that? Maybe but not for a rental.

Pearson is on the IL again with a groin strain.
I'm starting to lose hope that he's ever going to be a Frontline starting pitcher.

Like some people were saying last year about Vladdy.
Why are fans so impatient, time and again, despite being proven wrong about their pessimism time and again?

While I agree with this sentiment. He's nearing 25, injuries mounting up, and there seems to be some confidence issues with him. His window to reach his enormous potential will be starting to close soon.
But then you see someone like Degrom who didn't find his stride until he was 27ish. So who knows. Baseball prospects are more of a crapshoot than any other sport. It's half the fun sometimes.

Vladdy was waaaay overweight and not performing because of it. Good on him for righting the ship.
Pearson seems to tweak something every couple of weeks. That's completely different. I'm not being impatient, he's got amazing stuff and could be a dominant pitcher IMO, but not if he's injures all the time.
Just look at Merryweather.

Not "something". His groin. I feel like I've already had this argument with you back before the season started. Groin injuries are notoriously finicky and will reaggravate from the simplest and most unexpected #### in average day-to-day life. I can only imagine how problematic they are in the incredibly body-intense world of major league pitching.

3 blown calls in first inning what is going on with the umping!... at least 2 of them were overturned
Edit: Third one was not reviewable ... not sure why the ball has to be behind first base to review Fair/Foul

Can we check the first base ump for foreign substances in his bloodstream?
