According to CapFreindly, MAF has a No-Move Clause, combined with a modified No-Trade clause where he can list 18 teams he CAN be traded too.
So unless the Flames are one of the 12 he doesn't want to play for....
I have no idea, but if I had to guess I would bet Western Canadian teams would be included in the 12. EDM, VAN, WPG, CGY, but like I said, I have no idea.

Fleury for Wideman and a 2nd?
I could see both players waiving and Wideman would have success with the Pens I believe. Fleury knows he would be the number 1 next year on an up and coming team. Could be a good fit for both teams

I wouldn't assume he doesn't want to play in Canada. He is a Canadian boy after all. I would think he would welcome a chance to play in a Canadian market after all these years in Pittsburgh. Plus Calgary is a good young team with potential and good management. Having a nmc and ntc just gives the player leverage, doesn't mean it's an anti western Canada thing. Unless you've heard that he really hates the west.

Yeah, like I said I have no idea. Mostly I just assume that because of the travel Western Canadian teams face compared to what a guy like him has experienced in his NHL career.

If we get the Dallas first rounder, does the Dallas first and a second get Murray? Too much or too little?

I can't see the Pens dealing Murray unless they absolutely have to. They will take time to see if they can deal MAF first. If Murray has to be dealt instead I expect it will happen shortly before the expansion draft.

Maybe not "as" proven but he's also 21 while Schneider was 26 at time of trade.

2nd round pick at best. They have to protect Fleury. Murray will be picked up unless a side deal is made.

Even if true they wouldn't have to dump him for a low cost until next year. They can create a bidding war. No way a 2nd does it

Murray is unproven. It is a buyers market. Who is going to take him for more? How many teams need goaltenders? You'd think this guy was Caret Price or something.

It is a buyers market for goalies, and the longer teams hold onto their tandems the softer the market becomes thanks to the probable expansion draft and the ability to only protect one goalie.
If I'm BT, I'm annoying the crap out of GM's with constant phone calls about the availability of Murray, Mrazek, Allen and Vasilevskiy as opposed to the availability of MAF, Howard, Elliot or Bishop.
Getting a young goalie should be the goal.

Murray for Gillies + draft picks would seem to solve problems for both teams.

Murray for McDonald and the Stars pick if we get it. That'd be a solid offer IMO.
Pens still have Fleury, who's been solid for them for years, and are doubled down with Jarry and McDonald in the system, and they don't have to worry about losing a goalie for F all in the expansion draft.
Plus they replace their 2016 1st rounder they traded away.

How so ?
I also think that if he has a strong playoffs for Pittsburgh they would probably just rather move Fleury or buy him out.
