Dear god it's going to be another awful year Manning or no Manning. Jim Caldwell and a rebuilding Colts team.

A little bitter are we? I wonder why Lloyd would consider going to New England? Maybe its because they are one of the best run teams in professional sports.

According to Schefter, Gregg Williams is pretty much gone to St. Louis. Leading candidates for the soon vacant Saints DC job are Spagnolo and Mike Nolan, who are also being looked at by Atlanta and Philadelphia.

Can't wait until this is official. I put that loss on par with 93-95 Stamps playoff chokejob levels.

Arrowhead anxiety: Turnover off the field causes concern

Quote:
Todd Haley walked into the public relations office at Chiefs headquarters on a Thursday in early December. Four days before he was fired as the team’s coach, he wanted to talk about what life was like inside this organization. But he didn’t know who else might be listening.

Looking up toward the ceiling, he darted into a back hallway before hesitating. Then he turned around, going back through a door and stopping again. Haley suspected that many rooms at the team facility were bugged so that team administrators could monitor employees’ conversations. Stopping finally in a conference room, Haley said he believed his personal cellphone, a line he used before being hired by the Chiefs in 2009, had been tampered with.

I'm not too concerned with all this. The Chiefs have been a doormat for most of the past 40 years and have 2 playoff wins in my lifetime. They probably needed a culture change off the field more so than in the locker room. It's nothing new for ex employees to be bitter about a company they worked for a long time changing after ownership changed hands.

I do agree with the idea that the KC organization needed a culture change to get better. I also see a fair amount of stuff by the reporter who wrote that piece though and he's credible; it makes me wonder if the pendulum swung too far here.

Gregg Williams is off to St.Louis, Jason La Canfora says Jack Del Rio is a strong candidate to replace Gregg Williams.

Mike Martz is retiring from coaching football.

Williams got out of NO as soon as possible, lucky for him. Lot of questions around his defenses in the last two playoff losses (to now fellow NFC West teams, no less).

He gets to move somewhere right away based on his status and his name (being under Fisher before helped too), and has little to no pressure on a bad Rams team to make them into Superbowl contenders overnight. He'll then build his stock back up, and be in line for a higher profile position somewhere around the league in a couple years.

Martz will be back at some point, he's got too big an ego. No one wants him now given his arrogant attitude and lack of success for the better part of a decade, so just "retire" instead of floating out there in mediocrity. In a year or so, some team will be desperate for a different way of offensive thinking, and then suddenly look past the reasons why he made such quick stops in the last 3 cities, and hire him.

Fisher surrounding himself with questionable coordinators. Bradford into his 3rd o coordinator in as many years, not good. We need to get a top offensive line coach and get saffold and smith playing up too par.

Dolphins interviewed Mike McCoy today.

Word is the Raiders are interviewing both McCoy and Dennis Allen.

There are rumblings out there now that the Fins really like Zimmer but he might be leaning towards the Bucs job because he wants no part of Ross. The Fins owner might have dug himself a hole here.

The way he let Sparano twist in the wind I'm not surprised guys are leery of him.

Colts sign Jerrell Freeman. Played on the Roughriders last year and was their nominee for most outstanding defensive player.

Anyone who follows the CFL, if you could give your opinion on him that would be appreciated.
