Yanks primed to win again. On the back of two solo homeruns. Im too lazy to go back and look. But I'm pretty sure they haven't scored a run not via the homerun in a week.

Jays are still in a good spot. But they've been playing .500 ball for almost a month now. And by the time they play on Friday they could only be up 3.5 on the Yanks. If they're truly a contender they need to turn some things around. Especially looking at their September schedule and Milwaukee at the end of the month.

Fun season so far. But still lots of work to do.

Fisher is gone.
Berrios is probably gone.
Bassitt is probably going to be moved back in the rotation.

Bieber is a pitching staff messiah, come to heal the world of all the things wrong in the world -- be a shame if he sucked now.....

You also have the wild card with Monoah. Wouldn't count on him, but he's a potential factor too.

He looks awful right now. He's next year.

Berrios will probably be fine.

Berrios is 6th in Quality Starts in the MLB since 2023 (Wheeler, Webb, Valdez, Lugo, Castillo Berrios)

Even just this season he's 24th with 13 quality starts (leads the Jays), even though his ERA is 4.00.

His issue is when he has a bad start he's usually pretty terrible, but is otherwise very reliable outside of those blow up starts. And sure he was bad against Texas, but his 5 starts before that were all wins.

To me he looks like a guy that will benefit from some extra rest if they move to a 6 man rotation down the stretch here. If he can be a guy that can be your 4th starter come playoffs that you can count on for 6 innings you're probably in good shape, and maybe he ends up 5 if Bieber looks like Cy Young Bieber.

Scherzer: 3.60 ERA
Gausman:3.78 ERA
Lauer: 2.76 ERA
Berrios: 4.00 ERA
Bassit: 4.18 ERA
Bieber: ???

Lauer should stay as a starter just because he's your only lefty but might also hurt him since they need a lefty in the bullpen.

He won't. We know he won't because he hasn't been. The only saving grace with Berrios is that the prospects given up for him busted. Berrios killed my dog and abducted my first born just before coming to the Jays to stink up the joint. I hate him and his stupid face.

Oh, yeah. Next season Manoah could be a huge addition as he gets built back up.

Berrios has the TJ Brodie effect.

He can have 6 solid but not amazing games and get no credit, but then he has one blow up game and it's the end of the world.

Well, I don't think that's a fair thing to say with me. I am very cognizant of the fact that I could watch him pitch a complete game shut out and I would point out the fact he constantly gives up hard contact and loses his control mid game frequently which is why he didn't get a perfect game.

I think he's the ####s even when he's doing well because he pitches like he has the yips at all times.

He is different than most. His stuff moves so much so I think he needs to have his "feel" or pitches that should be on the edge are meatballs or 6 inches off the plate. He needs to live on the edges and have a good mix of pitches working. When he does, he is a solid #2. When he does not, he's a 4 or 5, making him probably a low end 2 or high end 3 which is...fine.
