How so? 2nd highest PPG by a draft eligible in Allsvenskan history.

Shout out to cral12, Sandman, and the team at Upside Hockey. Won a complementary copy of their Draft Guide for sharing one of their articles, and I can't wait to check it out! Thank you for all of your hard work this season and enjoy the draft!

The “high-end talent” just doesn’t quite measure up. His hands, passing, and offensive instincts aren’t elite, and defensively, his awareness and hockey IQ are a far cry from someone like Barkov—so that comparison feels like a stretch.
He does have a strong shot, no doubt, but he’s not really a play driver. Like I mentioned elsewhere, his game projects more like Nichushkin rather than anything close to Barkov’s level. That’s not 3rd overall material.

No I’m not. Let’s watch what happens in the NHL, he’s not a point a game player like Nylander or Pettersson. I will go on record saying it, don’t draft him 3rd overall. Eklund probably helped his stock.
I haven’t watched enough of Martone and McQueen but definitely Hagens will be better than Frondell.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. Sure seems like a lot of smoke with Frondell to SJS...
Hawks will run up to the podium to select Misa.

I’d be shocked if SJ goes for Frondell, especially with their recent exceptional draft history. That would be a big mistake.

I tend to agree. With my limited armchair scouting, I don't think Frondell has as nearly the offensive upside...but SJS could be looking at Celebrini passing the puck to Frondell for the one-timer and salivating.

This. It’s about getting the right fit. The prospect videos posted a few days ago in the draft thread suggested Frondell’s one-timer might be the best they have seen since Ovechkin. That’s saying a lot when guys like Stamkos and Laine have come along since then.

Celebrini and Frondell down the middle would absolutely help the Sharks have a competitive 1-2 punch when eventually making the playoffs.

I hope for a miracle where the Flames land Frondell or Misa.
But it's just a dream.

My hope's for Misa in a huge move up scenario... and suppose it could get interesting...
If the Sharks don't take Misa, I don't know if Chicago does as I think they'll take Martone to play with Bedard.
So suddenly Flames should be all over Utah for #4 to get Misa. And gets even wilder if that doesn't pan out but Utah goes with Frondell/Hagens/Desnoyers/Eklund instead (becoming less likely).
The number of people saying it's a crapshoot after Schaefer makes it interesting at least!

This board is going to lose it's collective fecal matter if the Flames don't A move up, or B draft a center with pick 18.
Thanks to Sandman and Cral12 and others for the prospect reports though out the year. It's always a day of optimism, and let's hope if the Flames to make two picks today that Crazy Bacon Legs initial prognostication comes to fruition.

All the talk of NYI trying to trade up and draft Hagens tells me they may just take Hagens at 1 and then go for Aitchesen or Mtrka with the Habs picks.

Yeah, them trading Dobson to me is a pretty strong tell that they're taking Schaefer.

This draft has the potential for more upset / off-the-board type picks than any in recent memory. Right now I'm taking every draft ranking with a grain of salt. I expect a lot of shocked faces when this first round is over.

Last call - we had a few takers on Sandman's favourite code we've offered to date...
"RAT63" for, you guessed it, a Marchand-alorian 63% off of our Upside Guide to the #NHLDraft.
