There should be room for Coronato, Pelletier, Duehr, and Ruzicka even if Backlund and Lindholm stay.

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Mangiapane
Dube - Kadri - Pelletier
Coleman - Backlund - Coronato
Duehr - Ruzicka - ???

That 4th line should be in line for 12 mins a night as long as it’s not a plug that slots in.

I think Zary is 1 yr away from making it unless he’s made big strides this off-season.

You're forgetting a certain Yegor Sharangovich.

Not sure why we’re assuming Coronato makes the NHL roster out of camp. More likely he starts in the AHL.

Lol I doubt he starts in the A, Conroy has been pretty adamant it’s his spot to lose.

I think it is more likely Coronato plays on a line with Jonathan Huberdeau than starting in the AHL

I don’t ever remember Conroy saying any specific spot was any young player’s spot to lose, just that the team was going to get younger. I think the team will bring in someone like Domi so that there is competition.

Lack of other options especially if we do move some of the players that we need to move?

Do we have any top 6 level RW's? Not saying that he is but he is likely the best chance of anyone to be a top RW next season.

Even if both Lindholm and Backlund stay you are looking at playing guys out of position (mangiapane/dube) or above their level (Sharangovich/Coleman) just to fill one spot at RW in our top 6.

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Sharangovich
Dube - Kadri - Coronato
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Pelletier - Ruzicka - Duehr
- Rooney -

Hanifin - Andersson
Kylington - Tanev
Zadorov - Weegar
Oesterle -

Markstrom
Vladar

…That’s how I have things currently.

Swap Rooney with Zary, move Ruzicka to the 13th forward, swap Vladar with Woif and yeah. As it stands now, I could see it.

I think 1/3 changes are plausible. I think Ruzicka will be a regular this year. I could see Wolf being the full time backup only if they move Vladar. However, I could see Zary beating out Rooney.

Zary does not look ready for the NHL. At all. Would need a very good camp to get a shot.

Had a very good camp last year. Not out of the question this year.

Less than a dozen prospects a year stick on an NHL roster without playing in the minors first. Coronato is a good prospect, but is he elite?

Zary was not good enough to earn a spot, and after watching him in the AHL I think he’s going to need to come in that much better. He did not look good a lot of the time.

As things currently stand, I think there’s a clear path for him.

There is no point in rushing Coronato. Don't make the same mistake as the organization did with Benny.

Plus, playing 40 or so collage games is a lot different than a 82 NHL regular season schedule. Give him time in the AHL for half a year or a full year.
