Yeah no kidding, that's really good for an SUV. I get 8.9L/100KM highway economy in my car and you've got 750 lbs extra to move around before you even take passengers, cargo, and aerodynamics into account.

There's still nothing there that proves your point. That sloping forehead look was a conscious design choice. Nothing more.

This is quite a bold claim, I don't even think you're the biggest car guy in this thread.

Did you even read the article? It literally says exactly that.
Maybe instead you can prove your point, that the blunt, stub nose on the Lexus is an outlier and materially different than most / any other SUVs on the market?

For all the different descriptions being used relating to that Lexus RX front... none overpower an image of a PT cruiser for me.

Maybe he's the biggest car guy, like, "I'm into cars and am very tall".
Although IIRC that description fits Sliver as well...

Maybe he drives a Humvee that's bigger than most of our cars?
Speaking of Humvees, I had to do a double take on the used prices on some I stumbled upon recently. Holy crap! Have the prices on these things always been over $100K for a well maintained one???

Go big or go home I always say. It's been a passion of mine since I was a kid. Have been a Car & Driver subscriber for 31 years running and have a collection of car mags dating back to the 70's and 80's. Owned almost every single brand over my lifetime outside of the obscure ones and exotics. Been a member of more automotive forums than I can remember. It's always possible that someone else here is bigger but I doubt it. I dislike Elon, not an EV guy, and think Tesla's are substandard built cars, but I just bought a Model 3 Performance because I want to experience EV ownership. That's dedication.

My face is a bum!

I thought all the biggest car guys knew about the hood height regulations in Europe that were very noticeable in the designs of a lot of euro cars over the past decade:

Does anyone else still want to debate that this styling was done for crash regulations? It's clearly a new design that Toyota is rolling with here. Here's an actual article that dives into the
'Alluring x Verve’ design of the vehicle.
https://paultan.org/2022/06/01/2023-...fifth-gen-suv/
Quote:
The new chassis is mated to a body that has been styled according to the concept of ‘Alluring x Verve’, which “expresses a captivating, seductive presence, and a powerful sense of spirit,” Lexus said. More than that, the design serves to highlight the company’s Direct4 technology, which we’ll get to later.
The spindle grille has been a symbol of Lexus for the longest time, but for the new RX, the company said the design is now expressed as a three-dimensional mass, evolving into something called the spindle body.
The new Lexus identity, as it is referred to, is something we’ve already seen on the RZ, and gives the RX a highly emotive look. There’s still a prominent spindle grille, although it appears to be a little smaller and less pointed than before. This is a result of the new bonnet, which has a raised tip and is joined by bodywork that “fuses” with the grille just above the Lexus emblem. The A-pillars have also been pushed back to emphasise the elongated hood.

I'd slot myself in as maybe 12th or 13th on the board. Some of you guys know some nitty gritty factoids that I don't.

Matchbox or Hot Wheels?
I always liked Matchbox for their authenticity, Hot Wheels were fantasy and didn't fit my automotive tastes.

Wasn't much of a hot wheels or matchbox collector. I was always more interested in the real thing.

KnightRider or Fall Guy?
Dukes of Hazard or Hardcastle and McCormick?
These are key questions in measuring your "Car Guy Status". In addition to what you have already postulated.
I am assuming you know these shows, was there any shows in the 90s/2000s that featured a car as a character?

Holy crap, that's shocking. There's no way my knowledge and insights warrant that many posts. The lunatic has taken over the asylum.
