All I'm saying is that he's a top prospect that seems to get lost in CPs obsession with forwards and statistical production. He is in my books at worst 6. All I'm saying is he's a very good possibility if the other prospects turn out to have question marks that are too big to ignore. And who knows if the flames will even be picking op 5.

The final NHL Central Scouting rankings have him ranked 9th for North American skaters. He'd be ranked 11th if you add in Euros (Nylander + Kapanen).
How do you figure it's a CP bias against dmen? I'd say he's been ranked 8-12th on here for the whole season, which is right where he's ranked by the professional scouting services.
Your obsession is unhealthy.

we get it. you think he could go in the 6 spot or he could go higher or he could go lower. It's a safe bet that he'll be drafted. He's the second best defensman in the draft. He will be a top pick and he's going to be good.
Most just don't see him as what the Flames need. I think if we're going to get a defensman that it shouldl be Ekblad. If there is a way for the Flames to move up and get another pick in the top 10 and he's still there than I'd feel happy picking him if we couldn't get Ekblad.
He'll be drafted.

Does anyone think that if he's still there the Isles take Dal Colle?
Dal Colle-Tavares-Okposo could be a top line in the nhl for a long time, and that could let one of the "top four" fall to us.
I'm still really hoping for Sam Bennett honestly. Having 3 two-way centers with smarts and compete would be huge for this team. We would be built like Boston.

It is quite possible. However, Bennett and Draisaitl have already shown they can be effective LWs, so it is possible the Islanders still grab them and convert them to wingers.

He could be a pietrangelo with his physical skill set. I'm saying he will be picked 5th or 6th in a draft with only one true potential superstar. Pietrangelo went 4th after stamkos doughty and bogosian. How is that the same as this year? I'm just saying fleury has the two tools that are the hardest to teach, that's speed and size. I compare him to trouba who went 9th in a mediocre draft. I thought the same thing then as I do now. Pick the defencemen that plays meat and potatoes hockey. Yet pouliot, lindholm, dumba, and Reilly went before him. All were projected to be better offensive players, and put up better points in junior. But against men Trouba has shown he belongs more then any of the little junior star defencemen. Junior hockey is won by strong offense, where as nhl hockey is more often than not won by strong defence. Give Hartley this kids frame and wheels and he will turn him into a stud.

I don't think there is a big 4 so I could easily see them going for Dal Colle over Drasaitl if those are the choices. Those two seem to be pretty similar in terms of ranking for me so wouldn't be odd to take one over the other.
Can't see them taking Dal Colle over any of Reinhart, Ekblad or Bennett though.

Lindholm has been better than Trouba and debatable that Trouba is better than Reilly.
Plus it is way too early to be judging that draft class for defensemen.
The weight thing with Ritchie is kind of interesting imo. On one hand it shows a bit of immaturity, but on the other hand, if he pulls that part of his game together he'll only get faster.
The posts about how he's a bit of a dumb player are concerning though, how true is that? Does he turn the puck over a lot?

A dumb player isn't fair. He is fairly undisciplined and takes quite a few stick penalties which strike me as either overly aggressive or careless. It's easier to reign in someone who is overly aggressive than instill it in someone who is too passive.
Ritchie is a very strong player who could be really good with some coaching and direction.
