Did they not get an even higher mark in their first skate, or is that not the same thing?

For them yes. 57.32/60 on program components is probably like getting a couple of 6.0s under the old system.

Edit: i mean 9.6, 9.45, 9.7, 9.6, 9.6 is unreal

I think that was Rod Black, and he needed to take Moir's advice and just calm down.

If you look at the numbers it's almost impossible for either of them to pass. It may actually be impossible as there's always a maximum score in a judged event.

Well, the other 2 pairs would have to score 115 or higher I believe. Since the canadian pair went into the competition leading everyone else.

It's nice to see a Canadian performance that didn't blew it in the end after the past couple of days.

This is fun to watch. Jumps are cool but these lifts are quite the spectacle. Really really fun to watch.

I'm with you. I thought the Americans looked way cooler, but their score got blown away by the Canadians. What do I know. Good job Canadians, I suppose. Way to kick some ass.

BTW, what the hell is a twizzle?

Canadians still in 1st with only 1 pair left! Americans are 2nd and 3rd with the Russians the only pair left to skate.
