I feel like this is where France sitting back too much in the last two matches has hurt them in attack, they have no chemistry or rhythm right now because they haven't spent much time doing that. Of course it's also pretty simple why France are losing, Argentina simply look like they want this way more than France. Scaloni also deserves a lot of credit for the Di Maria call, unquestionably MOTM so far.

the addition of Di Maria has been a masterstroke. Guy has turned the clock back tonight.
Argentina dominated until the early substitutions, where France seemed to right the ship a little bit

I’d make a really bad ref. I’d have half the Argentines on yellows for their “simulations”. They don’t need to do all that, they are the better/fitter side. Even more hilarious was them all whining at the ref after the half whistle.

I mean you say that but the Hugo Lloris bit of melodrama was by far the most embarrassing instance in the first half. Dude was demonstrably fine.

The signs were there the last two games that France weren't that great, but to get to an hour in the World Cup Final without a shot, on or off target....yeesh.
