He’s always kind of appeared to me as if he had found a lantern, and was granted 3 wishes by a genie. Only one of his wishes was hockey related, and that wish was that he could shoot a puck as good as anyone.
Nothing else related to athletic ability, instincts, or hockey IQ.
Who knows what he used the rest on.

Laine wasn’t always number two. Puljujarvi was considered just as promising a prospect until just weeks before the draft.

Might be bad form to quote myself from before the season started but it’s fun cause the oilers are so dependable. It doesn’t take a genius to predict this outcome... they do it every year. I love this time of year! Flames at the top of the division. Oilers losing and oilers fans losing hope.

I would think after watching some parts of that game that Oiler fans will eventually learn some undeniable truths
1) It wasn't T-Mac's fault, that's just a terrible lineup, and their leader in McDavid is not good without the puck and at times plays like he's got a bad case of I don't give a shyte. Hitch isn't going to be able to fix it, and at some point he'll be coaching for the money and the end of the year
1) Janice Puliavi really isn't an NHL player, he's got a great shot and . . . T-Mac learned this, and Hitch will learn it as well. It wasn't a matter of a coach not giving him a chance, its more a matter of he didn't deserve the chance.
3) No Edmonton fans, the Refs aren't screwing you and the league doesn't hate your team, that's why they gave you the most games on the second half of consecutive games for your opponents. Yes, dude that was a penalty on McDavid and not a conspiracy
4) Ask yourself the question Edmonton fans. You have very little in tradable assets, you're farm depth is terrible, you don't have a lot of pieces to work with. Yes Virginia there's another long rebuild coming and you have to wonder if the Connor wants to be part of that.

Some Drunk Oiler fan from Boston was screaming at the radio guys asking to why they can’t trade Lucic, kept pronouncing Draisaitl as Drastitle. They let him go on a 5 minute rant. The guy didn’t know Lucic had a no movement clause and it was pretty funny when the radio guys explained it to him.
