I really like Herbert and I want to see him excel and I'm hoping he gets his chance next season.

Every coach in the NFL doesn't lost their job when losing in a blowout, especially with a green as green can be backup in.

Raiders have nothing to play for and they've treated it as a scrimmage, throwing it deep as much as they have and hit on a lot of them.

Both teams have the same record, Raiders about to have a better one...they should have equal amounts to play for

Draft pick placing? Neither are going anywhere this year is my point. Charges adjusting to not having Herbert as QB, Raiders just throwing caution to wind.

Well when a QB needy team is set on screwing up their draft position they may as well go big. Hopefully that's their last win of the season and as much as I hate to say it the Raiders need to end the run of wins against the Broncos for the bigger prize. AOC looks like he's going to be a solid NFL backup QB but the Raiders actually have a lot of talent on offense (IMO Mayer is going to be a top 5 TE and Tucker a poor man's Hill) and would be a solid landing spot for one of the top QB's in the draft.

Kellen Moore has to be toast with the Chargers as well. His fall from coaching rising star has been rather precipitous to say the least.

Teams love young offensive minds right now so he’ll rebound but he’s taken quite a step backward in his progression.

Not surprising as they were both going to be let go at the end of the season. This is more to appease fans than anything.

The players clearly quit on him. They had to fire him with 3 games left to play.

That "players quit on him" quote is overused in football. Teams always have slackers but most of them play every snap for their jobs. The Thursday games can produce results like this if one team is more prepared than the other and I sense that was the case here as the Raiders were motivated by their embarassing 3-0 loss on Sunday. Every single player on a football field has their own job to do and it would be extremely rare for all 48 players to quit in a game. The reality is that they were not as prepared or motivated as the Raiders and truth be told the Chargers talent level has been massively overrated for years now. Yes they have some big names on both sides of the ball but their depth is paper thin and their big names are mostly aging and/or injury prone.

Staley should have been fired after that game against the Raiders which knocked them out of the playoffs.

Staley was entering the final year of his contract in 2024, so this was always going to be an extend him or fire him season. That he made it an easy choice for them is nice, but they still made a disastrous mistake not going for Payton to give Herbert a real coach after that playoff debacle.

LAC has too much talent to be so awful. Thats all I can see at this point. Not sure who will end up taking over but if you got the right coach in there I could see a quick turn around for the Chargers.
Ben Johnson or Bienemy I would assume would be near the top of the list

Glad I put down a few dollars on Staley to be fired within 48 hours at the start of the game when it was still paying plus money. I think by halftime it wad -300.

DJ Reader put for the game and the Vikings drive down the field pretty easy there.
