Great pics, but to be picky we should call them our Ukrainian guests. As Antonov is a Ukrainian company.

However the Volga-Dnepr bird has a Russian registration (RA-82045), and the Antonov Design Bureau bird is a Ukrainian reg (UR-82009).

We took the firetrucks over last night to see the Antonovs.

Both planes going to Chad with drilling equipment.
They said it was the first time Calgary had 2 Antonovs at the same time.

Well they were wrong about the first time thing, as my video above shows (and my memory of that visit).

Seriously, if Calgary can have a resident historian I think I should be the go to Avgeek.

This guide breaks it down pretty well. I really haven't had a lot of time to spend at the field since the runway opened so I can't really give a verdict on any of the spots.

Spoiler!
Thanks. I will check out that #11 location some time.

I wonder what percentage of those are defunct or went bankrupt at least once.

2014 Hornet Ball.

The Hornet Ball is an annual event consisting of all the West coast Naval F-18 Hornet and Super Hornet squadrons, their pilots and guests. Each year's ball features a video compiled from the squadrons' year of flying in both combat and training missions.

These legends ceased operations a few weeks before I was born... and now they're back.

Now we just need to get Continental and Northwest and we'll be all set.

Yesterday driving into work noticed a Antonov 124 parked on the North side of the airport near a cargo company. Was gone when I was leaving work.

Yup, it loaded up 3 British military Lynx helicopters and left for RAF Brize-Norton around 8pm last night.
