aside from the great storylines, performances, setting, and cinematography I think people enjoy White Lotus because there's boner-worthy people in it no matter what your preference.

Lucky you! You'll be sad when it is done though.

I hope they make book 7, 8, 9.

I found the theme of white privilege in season 1 much more compelling than the sex stuff in season 2. Yawn.

The Harry Meghan netflix doc is one of the most interesting PR blitzes I've ever seen. And they must have been paid *millions*

Thanks to this thread we are deep into season one of White Lotus and are enjoying it especially my wife. Getting her interested in a good show is half the battle so mission accomplished.

I hear you there. My wife really liked White Lotus but it's tough to get her into a show. She won't give really good shows like Barry, The Bear and Severance a chance.

Speak of the Devil (not your wife )

Just stumbled upon Severance this week. Looking after a friends place who has Apple TV. Flipped through the menu and clicked on it, thinking in my mind I was going to start Succession, fooled by the familiar name.

Spent the most part of the first two episodes royally confused. “This isn’t anything like I thought it was going to be.” Eventually figured out the mental mixup haha.

What a show! Been a while since I’ve been that enthralled by a season. Usually these psych thrillers start to unravel and weaken as things get unveiled (See: Lost) but this held up right through the season finale. It could still happen here as well, but I’m eagerly looking forward to season two.

Before this series I checked out Dark on Netflix. 1899 was kinda meh, but really loved Dark.

I’m on a roll! Severance, Dark... somebody tell me what should be next.

I thought the Tulsa King would be super lame but it’s actually been great so far!

Yeah mine just couldn't get into Severance or Bear either. She was okay with Barry though thankfully.

Anyone watch new Jack Ryan yet? Came out without any hype. But then again I thought season 2 wasn’t very good.

That's funny, I thought Severance and Succession were the same as well. Then I listened to a podcast with Ben Stiller talking about Severance and I thought this sounds super interesting. I burned through the whole season in two days. Just really really good.

That's tough.

The Bear has like 9 30 minute episodes. Its a breeze and easily a top show this years.

Severance is so good. the acting, the themes, pacing, esthetic ...

I think Bear is just too intense for her.

Yes, for mine as well. And just no interest in the premise of Severance so I went ahead and watched it on my own haha.

I still need to finish The Bear, we got a couple episodes in.

Ok so Willow is out of this world bad... probably the worst show I've encountered in 2022. And it is 85% on RT by critics- although the audience seems to agree on its awfulness.

It's one of those shows that you can immediately tell is bad but so many components of it should be good that you keep watching... and it doesn't get better.

I'm enjoying 1923 so far. Both spinoffs are so much better than what the original has become.

I was probaby a little too tipsy on my rant in the gear grinding thread last night after Christmas dinner, lol. But my sentiment hasn't changed. I really loved season one and was super excited for season two, but unfortunately that spoiler by DowninFlames in this thread kind of ruined the whole season for me. It's sooooo depressing as I don't get into a lot of shows.

As Jimmy Kimmel put it "it's a show where you know someone died and then the premise is to figure out who died and who killed them, and it's crazy cause you think it could be anyone!". Well take that away and the show is kind of ruined.

Spoiler!
