So Denver loses giving New England a chance to claim the AFC's top seed. New England goes and loses to Miami giving the Bengals the inside track for the number two seed. The Bengals than lose to the Steelers forfeiting that opportunity. End result...top three teams lose no change. I expect Baltimore will also win, and the AFC playoff picture will be the same as last week.

In the NFC, the South, North, and East could come down to the final week. Even the Wild Card might end up going to the final week if San Fran has nothing to play for in Arizona. Next week will shed a lot of light.

^^^Its all so freaking crazy this year...just nuts.^^^^^

the ONLY team that has shown consistency and ability to keep their foot on the gas is the Seahawks....beyond them though, anyone who gets in has a chance. Just that kind of year.

All of KC's losses were good games, rivers drove the bolts down on the last drive for a win and the two denver games were not terrible

Great story this year and not taking a thing away from them, but their strength of victory column is not good. 1 win against a team in a playoff position right now and that team is the Eagles who just got whacked by the Vikings with matt cassell as their qb and without their top 2 RB's. No one played a weaker sched this year IIRC.

That being said i really like the team and they have many really good pieces including Smith who has really matured. I will be cheering for them in the playoffs as well, but they just are not at a Seahawk level in any way just yet.

The Colts have the best wins in the NFL this year but they also have the worst losses of the playoff teams

Of all the potential playoff teams, San Diego actually has better wins than Indy (Denver and KC on the road) and even worse losses (Washington? Houston? Oakland?). Thats the NFL nowadays, the teams like Seattle and Denver who seemingly cruise through the regular season don't win the Super Bowl, but teams like Indy, Miami, San Diego and Green Bay this year (and Baltimore last year, Giants before, Packers before that...) seem to get on a run at the right time.

Also after his epic performance yesterday, I wonder if Jamaal Charles can steal the MVP award away from Peyton Manning. If he can get to 800 yards receiving and 1,300 yards rushing with 20-22 TDs, thats a hell of a season.

exactly, that was horrible coaching and even after throwing the last pick, perhaps the defense could make even 1 stop against a team with a backup QB. if Rodgers plays that game, he lights them up for 50, their D is that bad. Romo made bad throws but he also knows he has to score 35 a game in order to win....... and Jerry will roll on with Garrett.. quite comical

San Diego really has to be kicking themselves for some of their close losses. The games in Tennessee, Washington, and Miami were all there for them to win. The Washington one in particular...1st and goal from the one with timeouts left...and they don't even try a single running play against that Washington defence.

I just saw this, but the St. Louis Rams amazingly have lost five games this year by double digits...and won five games this year by double digits. Boom or bust team it seems.

Could be a solid team for years as they will have 2 pretty good picks this year including a more than likely top 3 from Washington....

Car dealership in Seattle runs promotion called "Seattle Shutout" and is now set to pay out almost half a mill. because the Seahawks blanked the Giants

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2013/1...tout-new-york/

Quote:
As part of the promotion, anyone was allowed a free entry to the contest by completing a form, but if someone purchased a new or used vehicle at the dealership, they were given 100 entries. Each winner now stands to collect $35,000, or a total payout of $420,000

Big Monday Night Football matchup. Ravens @ Lions. The loser will be on the outside of the playoff cut with 2 weeks remaining.

Oh and it's always fun to start a debate and since I saw some MVP talk, who are your choices for NFL MVP and Defensive POTY?

Pretty fun start so far. Lions up 7-0. Megatron dropped a sitter.

Reggie having a nice start, he always seems to have his better games in prime time over his career. I'm partial to the Lions' O. Love Megatron, still like Reggie, plus him & Joique Bell are former Saints, always kinda liked Stafford, Burleson's born in Calgary..pretty fun offence to watch too, when they're clicking

Baltimore needs to be taking advantage of these gifts.

How many wide open drops has Calvin Johnson had this year? or poor thrown 5 yard flats from Stafford? Both have happened to stall 2 separate drives.

Its hilarious how bad refereeing is across the entire NFL right now. The replacement refs in my opinion weren't that bad, especially since they tended to let them play rather than call every touch a penalty.

The replacement refs were such an overstated bitch-fest. Other than the "Fail-Mary" play, which has been noted as not nearly as bad a call as let on.. I hardly noticed a difference in the tendency and consistency of the calls
