lol the match is tense, nervousness in the air because the train can go off the rails at any point.

antics aside, the quality is pretty good.

Why wouldn't they wait until the conclusion of the 4th set to close the roof?

That's how Wimbledon is, they close it at the nearest even game at the umpires discretion.
They closed the roof on Center when Nadal was up 4-2.

and then because of the roof closed and acoustics, Nadal was complaining about Sonego grunting. Told the ump and told Sonego

drama everywhere!

Sonego does have a very loud and long grunt. It does border on hindrance at times.

The linespeople are making a strong case for electronic line-calling.

I thought that bad call at 5-5 in the tie-break might be his undoing, but he managed to see it out. That half-volley he made was incredible.

We could have had Shapo - Kyrgios in round 4, instead it's Nakashima - Kyrgios.

I'm so sad I missed the match today, sounds like I missed a good one.

Tomorrow we get the unstoppable force vs the immovable object as Djokovic takes on Tim van Rijthoven.

Tsitsipas can say whatever he wants but he should have been defaulted and Krygios brought it up with the umpire and the supervisor. When Tsitsipas hit another ball off the scoreboard he got a point penalty and Krygios calmed down after that.

I normally don't go in for the stuff people say about Kyrgios, the pearl-clutching "ABSOLUTLEY REPREHENSIBLE, WHAT A POOR SPORTSMAN" sort of theatrical derision of him that tends to happen is I think kind of put on. I also think Tsitsipas is a cheater and as much as Nick gets easily into the mode of bitching and complaining about things, I don't think he's doing it out of tactics, so at least it's a genuine reaction. But there's so much in this press conference that confirms what an actual just... piece of #### human being the guy is.

He gets accused of being a bully, and in the next question bullies the reporter who asks him if more players should be defaulted for hitting the ball in the crowd. He thinks there's no reason to apologize for doing stuff that's going to get him fined and immediately turns it around to "well I'll be interested to see what happens to Stefanos for what he did". Feels he has no responsibility for any of the drama, or "circus", in the match. Pulls the whole "I have lots of friends and nobody likes Stefanos" line. The constant "well people come to watch so I'm clearly in the right by doing this stuff because that's good for the game". Saying he doesn't care he can patch things up with Stefanos because Stefanos is soft and they're not cut from the same cloth because he plays basketball against tough people at home... How can someone watch this without thinking "what complete and total dick"?

... I bet if I said all that to his face he's the type of guy who would say "well I'm famous and you're irrelevant bro, I'm making millions of dollars bro what do you do", or something along those lines. Just... gross.

he got Yogurt to fly off the rails today, mission accomplished I guess. but this dickbag constantly gets away with way more stuff than any other player would, just because he's Bad Boy Nick. the constant cursing and abuse of linespeople and umpires, at this point everyone just expects it and it's almost like tuned out. if his matches were called by the book, he'd default over half the time.

In a perfect world, Nick would just keep his mouth shut and let his tennis do the talking. Unfortunately, we have to endure the bad behavior alongside the at times brilliant tennis. I mean, tennis survived Nastase and McEnroe, I'm pretty sure it will still be around and thriving long after Nick is done playing.

Nick the Dick is way worse than Nastase and McEnroe. He does dick moves EVERY SINGLE Match. Just STFU and play! No one needs your stupid one liners and commentary after every point.

His fear is that his tennis can't do the talking and thats why he acts like an ass clown every match. He doesn't practice much and is woefully out of shape. That's why he will never win a major.

I mean sure he comes up with some spectacular trick shots but thats because he doesn't care. Any professional ATPer would never try the kyit he puts out.
