That does look good. Maul is an interesting character, a real agent of chaos. And there is something about the voice-actor for Maul...he really captures the essence of the character.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Such a shame that basically all the best Star Wars outside of the OG trilogy is in these types of side stories.
Hmm...I'm not so sure its 'such a shame.'
Really? The Star Wars universe is supposed to be vast, lets get some other people in there so not every damned piece of IP has to be a goddamned Skywalker Family reunion.

Not only that, but there a trillions upon trillions of people, can we not get a story of people who have never even heard of Solo's or Skywalkers, and didn't watch the news when Palpatine was running things.
Or put it several thousands of years in the past.

Or future or whatever. One of the things that I find interesting is that, unlike Star Trek, the technology in Star Wars is pretty stagnant.
"This is what we have, it doesnt change much."
So the timing of the settings really doesnt matter.

It is? We've been stuck watching the same 30 year time frame on the same handful of planets for decades now, the universe feels pretty small to me

I remember reading about that somewhere, that after several 100's of thousands of years that they had reached close to the apex of most research, when the Empire came in it was equivalent to the Dark ages where research and development was constricted to weapons research but the real focus of the Empire was on exploitation of resources instead.
The Death Star was considered to be the apex of scientific achievement, but really all it was, was bigger and had a bigger cannon on it.

Yeah, I love stories from outside Skywalker, that's not what I mean. The shame is that it's tough to convince non-Star Wars fans, or even casual fans, that one of the best stories is 6-12 select episodes of The Clone Wars, or Andor, or even something as popular as The Mandalorian. And really, those things aren't as good unless you actually do slog your way through the rest of it.
Such a shame that basically all the best Star Wars outside of the OG trilogy is in these types of side stories.
Most of the stronger Disney stuff, Mandalorian, Rogue One, Andor, even Bad Batch, has nothing to do with the jedi.
The jedi stuff tends to have more profound impacts on the universe.
The Ahsoka series has this but is weaker. The last season of Clone Wars was Filoni's best work IMO.
So I keep hearing that Jar Jar was supposed to be a force user and that he'd be evil, but the plans were nixed due to the backlash against the character.
True?

Nope it was a running joke after the prequels that Jar Jar was actually the Sith Lord pulling the strings behind the curtain. Robot chicken picked it up in one of their Star Wars specials. And I think Lego Star Wars did a alternative Galaxy with Darth Jar JAr.
But no he was never meant to be a force user or evil. George just thought people would buy a lot of lunch boxes with Jar Jar on them
After the Phantom Menace and after George saw the dislike of Jar Jar, he literally made him primarily responsible for the rise of Palpatine and the Fall of the Republic.

In the Star Wars Lego universe.
