This has been the weirdest hiring process ever. Interviewing GM's and head coach candidates sided by side. Supposedly Davis is looking at package deals with Ziegler/McDaniels or Dodds/Harbaugh. The speculation changes daily as there were rumors that Dodds blew them away a few days ago and Ziegler/McDaniels went cold but interviewing McDaniels clearly means that's not the case and Dodds isn't 100% for the GM. I personally don't like McDaniels at all as I think he's a weasel. That said he learned to cheat and win from the best and most of the really good head coaches are not very likeable men (Harbaugh, Reid, Belichick, Payton, Carroll, etc). I'm at the stage where I will take an unleakable coach that wins over a nice guy that doesn't.
Sounds like Bisaccia has been told he is out as rumours are he may join the Bears as their special teams coordinator. If that happens it's a good move for the Bears as I have never heard a coach more loved by players and if things ever go south with Eberflus they have a great interim coach.

Really from who? There were rumours that the job had been offered to him weeks ago but it's really hard to say at this point the way Davis is all over the map. For what it's worth he still hasn't signed a deal with Michigan and Dodds withdrew his name from the Bears but interviewed with the Raiders so it's still very possible although it was rumoured that Harbaugh wanted a Gruden type deal and Davis is hesitant to do that again (for good reasons). Like I said this is a unique approach of looking at GM/coach packages. Time will tell if it's the right way to do things.

What a truly strange negotiation

McDaniels informed the Raiders that he wouldn’t accept their interview request unless he was being offered the job, per sources. And the Raiders told McDaniels that if and when he was offered the position, he needed to be prepared to accept. Sources emphasized that all parties are on the same page, including McDaniels, Ziegler, Raiders owner Mark Davis, and team president Dan Ventrelle.

I believe in the Jays.

McCown is getting a second interview with the Texans. I think they might actually do it.

The two-week search for a general manager and coach is in its final turn, and though he hasn’t made up his mind yet, Davis is said to be enjoying the national media buzz surrounding McDaniels. There have been a lot of twists and turns during the coaching search — from the thus-far unfounded Jim Harbaugh rumors to Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds being the favorite to be GM at one point — but McDaniels’ name has always been floating around.

It's way, way too early for him but he was a really smart QB and I could see him being a good coach down the road once he pays his dues as an actual coach. However no matter how smart he is the head coach job of an NFL team is demanding and it's hard to imagine anyone with no coaching experience can walk in and do it. Really they don't appear to be a team that's interested in winning right now and they could easily give him the Cully treatment if it doesn't work out so from their point of view I suppose they have nothing to lose.

Pastor Jack still a major influence inside that Texans organization it would seem. Just insane you would give McCown a head coaching job so soon, especially since he has never even been employed by the Patriots.

Less than two weeks ago, the Kansas City Chiefs signed cornerback Damon Arnette to a reserve/futures contract. Before the month of January even came to a close, the former Las Vegas Raiders defensive back was arrested in Vegas on Friday night.
Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Chiefs released Arnette immediately following his arrest on Friday night. Arnette faces multiple charges following his arrest, including assault with a deadly weapon, possession and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. This continues a stretch of bad decisions by a player who was the 19th overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Raiders.

McCown could definitely work out, who knows? It's just hard to get over how embarrassing the last two coaching searches have gone for the Texans. It's also hard to get over how the Texans franchise appears to have peaked with the 24-0 lead over the Chiefs. It has been, to put it lightly, a complete catastrophe since.

Makes sense, last game felt like his deal with the devil was expiring with how ridiculous that game was. NFC South officially the worst division in football now.
