Nice job today by the government and a tough day for a chunk of their voter base.

I don't think that chunk is very big, but they are very vocal. As a supporter of the Liberals I think this was totally the correct decision. You can't have your pie and eat it too, in order to transition to clean energy we need to use the resources we have responsibly. Good call by the Liberals and good to acknowledge that the Alberta NDP policies played a role in it.

First Notley receiving some well thought out praise (that I had to acknowledge) on what ultimately became a plan for transitioning out of coal, then the Trudeau government approving 2 out 3 pipelines to the west...what am I going to bitch about now?

Well Harper did approve Northern Gateway he just got booted before they could build it. Also KXL was a major push by him that got kaiboshed by the USA.
I'm happy TM got approved, if the Liberals can get EE approved and don't stand in the way of KXL now that Trump's in I would heavily consider them in the next election. Especially considering the lack of exciting leadership candidates for the CPC.

Is approval of EE enough now? Would be nice if Keystone got approval as well.

Come on guys, don't give in. The drama teacher is only approving these because he wants to look good after the Castro comments.

BC is suddenly salty
http://vancouversun.com/news/local-n...organ-pipeline
This still has to go through court challenges, and protests, so I think its still optimistic to think this will be done in what 3 years?
But its a good first step.

Gateway is also a Bad route. About the only benefit was the shared right of way with the Gas line. Kitamat isn't a great place for tankers. Rethinking it and getting it to PR would have been much more palatable.
In my opinion the liberals went 3/3 on good decisions. Energy East still needs to get through but the liberals once again have shown to be very pragmatic and used the drama teachers political capital and star power to approve something that is good for the country but hasn't lots of opposition in vote rich communities.
Good governance shown today and it should be celebrated

So you are suggesting we assassinate, I dunno, Kim Jong-un, have Trudeau say some really inappropriate things about him, then we get pipelines? I can get behind that equation.

The tanker moratorium is an interesting piece to this. From what I've seen, this would only apply to oil tankers. I wonder whether this will have any impact to the LNG plants/pipelines if Petronas and/or Shell ever decide to move forward?
