I do not think it is a free for all and Vegas didn't meet Conroy's price. I doubt Conroy gave them permission to talk to Andersson if they did not offer him a trade that he would say yes to.

So far the rumours are that LAK, SJS, and Buff are the only teams that offered packages that opened the door to extension talks and Andersson said no.

If this keeps going, I wonder how long until the SJS offer starts to look good? With all their cap space they could probably offer him $8-9M while a team like Vegas probably caps out at 6-7.

Speculation on my part. I doubt there is an open line where every team can speak to Rasmus and negotiate. Rumour is that LA met the Flames’s ask and Rasmus declined to talk contract with them. Then we learn a rumour that he will only sign in Vegas. How does Rasmus know that Vegas is going to offer him his desired contract?

Of course there are a lot of assumptions on my part. I just can’t see the Flames allowing all teams to talk to Rasmus before agreeing to terms on a trade.

Previously on CP Insider:

Vladar likely to sign in SJ

Flames likely to sign Ivan Prosvetov to replace Vladar

Conroy will try to get Marner if he can get a meeting

Flames need a top 4 LD regardless of Anderssons future
Flames needaybe a Right shot forward

No rumors on filling those positions.

If you asked me the kind of player the Flames need the least, the role they have the least use for, Tanner Jeannot would be one of the first names that come to mind. Baffling rumor
