Scoring Winger

For what's worth - probably not much - seeing Felix and Shapo win the ATP Cup is the best tennis moment I've seen live. The Canadian team beat some quality teams. Hopefully they can achieve much greater heights in their careers.

Meanwhile, McDonald is down two sets to love to a qualifier after taking out Felix because of course he is.

As much as that stings to see, as long as you don't beat yourself with silly mistakes and unforced errors like FAA has been doing all season, players like Mmoh and McDonald aren't going to win more than they lose in slams.

Very underwhelming evening matches tonight while Iga, Coco, Muchova, Tsitispas, Novak and Ruud are all playing day matches.

Yeah, although no surprise that Big Foe and Fritz are getting evening matches on the big courts. Kvitova versus Woz will get some eyeballs as well.

Or maybe not - Coco blows Andreeva away 6-3 6-2.

Borna Gojo in straight sets 6-3 6-4 6-4. A big guy with a big serve, had the same number as aces as Felix did versus McDonald (13), only two double faults where Felix had 11.

Oikos is serving to stay in the US Open at 2-5 in set 5.
Edit: Stricker comes back from 2 sets to 1 down winning 7-5 6-7 6-7 7-6 6-3

i guess they want to put Fritz or Tiafoe in the night session but the match to put on Ashe tonight is Shelton-Thiem

I'll just say that as bad as Felix is playing in 2023, Stefanos isn't playing much better. Back in 2019, I was thinking both guys would be battling it out at the top of the game and we wouldn't be discussing when they would win their first grand slam, but how many? Going into 2024, they have a combined total of zero grand slams.

Tiafoe always entertains but I find Fritz one of the more boring players in the top 20 so definitely a bummer that he's geting a primetime slot. More interesting than the match will probably be counting how many times during the match, the camera pans on his instagram model girlfriend.

Tsitsipas made the 2nd round of the US Open this year which is better than his 1st round loss last year but he's never played well in this tournament for whatever reason. I realize hard courts aren't his best surface but he should be better than this.

Yogurt's career perma-curdled once he choked that French Open away to Novak. Best case Ontario for his career now is maybe he backdoors a major when every other top player dies, otherwise another LostGen player down the drain.

Thiem retires in the 2nd set with a stomach problem, he said he threw up before the match. Poor guy can never catch a break

Maybe the Woz can give us a Kim Clijsters type run (who ironically she lost to).
