Interesting that Nintendo has a new class of product, a game-key card.

It's still a physical cartridge but there's no game on it.. you still have to download it. However rather than a use-once code like you'd get with a digital download and the game is permanently in your account this isn't tied to your account. You have to have the cartridge to run it. So you can borrow this from the library or lend it to a friend or sell it.

Not great, but it's better than a game key, I guess thanks Nintendo?

kinda cool that you can lend and sell game-key cards, unlike the current digital download system.

I'm impressed with some of the innovations they made for the Switch 2, but they didn't put hall effect sticks in the joycons. We'll have to see how durable they are.

I'm curious if MicroSD Express will make a noticeable difference. I expect we'll hear about people complaining when their old cards don't work.

Canada preorders are delayed due to Trump tariffs as well.

If the joycons aren’t fixed, it ain’t worth $700 that’s for damn sure.

This is dumb. It would have been nice for them to throw Canada a bone here. We’re not the ones making a mess of things.

I assume it's because they treat North America as a single thing internally and trying to split it up by today in whatever systems they use internally just wasn't feasible.

As long as we get to preorder at some point.

If the price of this thing goes up even higher, I can't see how it manages to find a foothold. I actually feel pretty bad for Nintendo. People have wanted them to swing hard with power for decades, and they may have finally done it at the absolute worst possible time.

I mean its a PS4 Pro in power...if that, good for a handheld but there are more options these days than when the Switch launced. It will probably be a cool system but IMO it won't be Switch/Wii succesful. I cant imagine the cheap portable only Skew this time around either and that sold like crazy for kids.

With Nintendo saying they plan to support the OG switch for many more years (only halfway through it's lifespan according to them), I think the Switch 2 will play out a lot like the PS5 has. 90% of games will release for both with only minor visual or performance upgrades for the Switch 2 version

Not happening IMO

Many of the heavy hitter first party games are not coming to Switch (Mario Kart, Donkey Kong) you will get the odd early one like Metroid that was already developed and 3rd party AAA is already near impossible to port as is.

All the indies will continue

There’s 150+ million reasons why the Switch will get plenty of games, not just indies. Not the Triple A, Elden Ring and CP2077 type stuff but plenty of other good games.

I was responding to a comment that said 90% of games will release for both...that is whats not happening. Not saying it won't get games...go look at upcoming releases though, slowed down big time already.

Was hoping Nintendo would have some Switch stuff in Japan to try out in person but no dice.

Meanwhile

So who is the most reliable to try and preorder from? Best buy, GameStop, or Walmart?
