I tend to agree that this showing will give Rubio a ton of momentum. He can win? We're not stuck with tweedle dum and tweedle dee? Okay, let's make sure he does.

I can't believe Hillary declared victory. She must have some basis for that that CNN et al don't know about, right?

... Right?

Not god, but "an all-powerful god". Seems like a given, then, that god didn't want you to win, Marco. How do you explain that?

Kasich is really the only one out of that entire group that I find reasonable.

And some of Rand Paul's positions ... some. But Paul has no chance.

God is slow playing the field to get them to increase the pot. Then Rubio will sweep in and take all the chips.

God's plan.

Exciting night for Bernie. If he loses by say, a percent, how does it affect delegates?

Yeah but what Republican isn't? Rubio actually is very hawkish, his slogan (A New American Century) curiously enough is chosen from a neocon think tank that had 10 advisers end up in the Bush administration (like say Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld). He's a standard neocon, he's pretty much the Cuban Bush from the policies I've seen from him.

Especially in Calgary, though.

Seriously, Ted Cruz looks like he looked at the Ark of the Covenant at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark ... but just for a few seconds. He was spared, but his face sorta melted a bit.

A moderate republican has no chance in the race these days. Kasich is an excellent politician and leader, but he said he would be willing to attend a gay wedding...so that's it for him.

Rand is all over the map. He can't decide if he's extremist right wing, libertarian, moderate, sensible...whatever. His inability to be defined is what kills him as a national candidate.

I think Stephen Notley said it best

Seriously, I hate to harp on the guy's looks, but it's part of a total package of general slimy, creepy politician. He looks like a guy who'd be typecast to play the bad guy candidate on TV.

Frankly, this is a reason he should get support, not a reason he should be denied it... He actually decides matters on an issue by issue basis. If this is a strike against him politically, it's revealing of a flaw in the system as currently constituted, seems to me.

Obviously I disagree with the guy on a ton, but he seems principled, thoughtful and intelligent. Certainly looks like a freakin' Godsend candidate next to the guy who won tonight for the GOP.

Short speech for Trump. And he certainly didn't talk about religion enough.

Rand Paul is exasperating to me. I like his views re: not wanting to go into another war, wanting to shrink the military. He wants to protect privacy rights for Americans which I like. But then he wants there to be absolutely no government intervention in every day life, no regulations for businesses, no EPA, none of that.

Oh, but he's pro-life and against marriage equality. So no government regulations unless you're a woman or gay.

Welcome to American politics. First time viewing?

That's the major issue for me. People are so entrenched in party politics, interested in winning rather than getting something productive done. I blame it on the failure of the media to educate the population on more than just talking points. I talk to a lot of people down here, and most don't have the faintest understanding of the pros and cons on key issues. Pretty scary stuff quite frankly.
