Say what? Slavery is far from being eradicated.

Hmmm... for whatever reason, this reminded me of my one and only rule with respect to others: Do whatever the hell you want to do as long as you're not hurting someone else. Be religious or atheist or spiritual. Be straight or gay or bi. What has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap? This guy.

I just don't get it with the level of offense taken at inconsequential events such as this. I'm not religious, but I'm not PO'ed if there's some crosses along the road, it's no skin off my ass. I'm tolerant enough to accept that many people have different beliefs than I do. To them, it might be a religious or spiritual symbol. To me, it's a reminder of loss. I don't need them to see things the way I do.

I would still like to read CalgaryBorn's explanation on how the average Canadian is less free than 50 years ago because of the introduction of multiculturalism and the obvious expansion of voting rights to natives in this country plus the empowerment of female citizens.

Without a doubt the biggest howler I've ever read on CalgaryPuck. And he said it without a hint of irony.

That's probably because most atheists aren't dumb enough to think anything could actually be omnipotent. Or even omniscient.

Sweet. I'm going to go buy a slave overseas and bring her back here, I'm tired of doing my own laundry.

Compliment to the thread title, certainly. Rather missed the mark on nearly every discussion angle within, however.

And I'm sad it took nearly 300 posts before you showed up!
