I'd love to see an actual argument for how dropping knees to a guy on his back isn't a dirty play.

Just call it what it is, a dirty play. I don't care if you like it or hate it, but stop pretending it wasn't dirty.
Where did I say it wasn't dirty? Don't confuse what I am trying to say with what moon posted. Actions cause reactions, and it was the action of the Eskimos player that caused Labinjo to lose his cool and knee drop him. I'm not condoning it, but Labinjo wouldn't have done anything if not provoked.

Holy backtracking Batman!

If you're not condoning it and it was dirty then you agree that it was suspension worthy.

Whether or not he would/wouldn't have done it if not provoked is irrelevant. Labinjo isn't a wild animal you can't blame provocation. The Edmonton guy didn't poke a sleeping lion who reacts on instinct. Especially since the provocation was relatively tame.

If the Edmonton guy is beating Henry Burris senseless and stomping on his skull then Labinjo can jump in and knee the dude in the head. Anything else is over the top and deserves a suspension.

Talbot hauled Labinjo down by his facemask. How is that tame?

You're making a bit of a jump there, something can be dirty and not be suspension worthy. I'm a little surprised he wasn't suspended, but it's not completely unbelievable.

Bottom line is that if Labinjo gets suspended, so should Talbot. I should have just said that from the get go.

Why are you guys arguing about this non-issue. If this was the NFL Labinjo probably gets a single game suspension if you consider Haynseworth got five for stomping on a players head with his cleats. However this is the CFL where you have to do something pretty bad to get suspended. Yes he clearly lowered his knee on Talbot but when you initiate contact after the whistle you should be ready to pay the price and Talbot started the entire incident.

IMO the dirtiest play of the game was a few plays later when that Eskimo ripped the helmet off Arthur after tackling him for a 15 yard penalty. That's a very dangerous play.

I said relatively tame, meaning it was far less severe than being kneed in the head.

Yeah I realized that as I posted. I can understand someone thinking it isn't suspension worthy but not on moon's basis - its ok because edmonton is a rival - and not on the basis that it wasn't dirty.

I don't agree but I can see how you might think that.

Bottom line is the play was dirty, has no place in football and I was surprised he didn't get suspended for the play.

Feel free to argue why or why not he was suspended but lets not pretend that Labinjo wasn't lucky to get off, provoked or not.

Well it's obvious you don't agree, but the position you've taken makes it look like you are giving Talbot a free pass. Is that the case?

What Talbot did may or may not be suspension worthy. I'd have to see it again to judge. I've seen what Labinjo did a couple of times and I think he was lucky to escape suspension.

Talbot doesn't get a free pass from me but I really don't know if he should have been suspended or not.

I think Labinjo probably should have been suspended but I wouldn't say he was lucky not to be suspended. The CFL discipline system is a joke, a player can end someone's career with a dirty play and not get suspended.

There is nothing to "give up" and excuse if I don't really care about useless insults like "no class" being thrown around by someone who knows nothing about me at all.

Quote:
I don't care what you think because you are obviously a classless fan. I'm ashamed you are part of the same fanbase as I am.
The easiest to fix that is to do the team and favor and stop cheering for them. They don't need useless fans like yourself.

Quote:
Why don't you try cheering for the Canucks? You can hail Bertuzzi as your hero because his actions were totally justified because you don't respect the opponent.
Hate the Canucks and what Bertuzzi did has nothing to do with the Labinjo play at all, but feel free to keep grasping at straws.

We are talking about sports here. Not warfare. Intentionally physically harming the opponent in a non-sports play is not cool. Kneeing a guy in the head is not part of the game.
If you are harming a Rider or Esk it is as cool as it gets.

Adarius Bowman is a great WR...... at dropping perfectly thrown balls at him. So glad he is longer with my team.

I can't believe how bad the Eskimos, Lions, & Bombers are collectively. Tonight's game much like Sunday isn't even competitive.

Is it even possible to be a worse team than Winnipeg? Well besides the Esks, damn the Bombers are a horrible horrible "team".

AC is down. Wow Calvillo started to slowly limp off and then went down again, scary.

Hopefully AC recovers from whatever is wrong. It was a scary moment when he fell back to the ground.

Not good to see AC leave the stadium on a stretcher.
