Google "After Meringue cookies"...they're delicious
Couldn't find the recipe I was looking for, but here's some ideas
http://bakingdesserts.suite101.com/a...over_egg_yolks
Ok, I looked in my Best of Bridge and here they are....After Meringue cookies
2/3 c butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c white suger
1/2 tsp vanilla
5 egg yolks
1 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup raisins
Cream butter and sugars. Add vanilla and egg yolks. Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture and mix until smooth. Add walnuts, dates and raisins and blend well. Place medium spoonfuls of dough on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Makes 4 dozen cookies.

Nope. The yolks prevent the whites from getting stiff which is what you want for a meringue.

Throw them at your brother?
You've either had too much alcohol or not enough.

Would you really want cookies that weren't good enough to get finished off by then?

Ugh. Baking. I wish I could get good at this stuff.

They won't be around til Christmas eve, perhaps I let them fester out on the counter, then throw them at them. Sounds good.

Here's what an Italian would do with the yolk.
For each yolk put about 1 to 2 teaspoons of sugar depending on how thick you want it to be.
Combine yolks and sugar into a coffee cup then with spoon or electric mixer (only use one beater instead of both), beat until it becomes thick and fluffy.
Make yourself an espresso, perhaps with some biscotti. Put concoction, my family calls it coco but I don't think its a universal term, on top of cup of espresso. Throw in some Zambucca for added awesomeness.
Alternatively, you can put it on toast, or wafers or anything else you like, but it is best used with a nice cup of espresso.
If anyone tells you that you can get salmonella from raw eggs punch them in the face, I've been eating this stuff for years and I've never gotten sick.

Or you could throw them in the driveway of the neighbour who likes to dump his snow on your mother's driveway.

Yeah, I only recently tried Mike N Ikes, my friend bought me some and ever since i've been addicted. I went to the Dollar Store today and bought about ten boxes.
Swedish berries I have loved since I was little. They are awesome. Maybe too awesome.

What kind of Mike n' Ikes do you guys like? Myself, I'm partial to the dark blue box (Berry Blast I believe). Tropical is good as well.

Not a fan of the Berry. But I definitely like the Tropical. More often than not though, I go with the Originals.

I think I am officially Scrooge this year. For several different reasons, I feel completely miserable and I absolutely cannot wait until Christmas is over.

I totally understand what you're saying. I have avoided Christmas shopping thus far and can't fathom actually getting out to the malls.

Same! I have barely done any Christmas shopping. I went today and it was quite possibly the worst thing ever. I wish I could just not get people gifts. I don't care if they don't get me gifts.

It definitely wasn't the best year, thats for sure. 2008 was decent enough for me, but the last few months have been pretty crappy.
Bring on the new year!

Yeah, I am happy to see 2008 ending soon. But it also means I get the inevitable "Will this be the year that my daughter gets married and has a grandchild for me?" speech from my mom. It's always an awkward start to the year.
I was in the malls today and they were brutal. Just all kinds of rudeness going on, it's sad really. I was close to destroying a 12 year old boy because he nearly ran into me with his shopping cart several times.

I think my boss knows I'm looking for another job. I love Christmas, but hate retail.
