Insua falls asleep and lets Geovanni stroll in for Hull's first goal. Terrible effort. He should be dropped and made to work on his fitness. No excuse for that kind of lazy play.

Hah, looking at his other posts, he seemed to have mostly the same type of stuff to say about the Flames.
Anyways, that's all about that. Good win. Not a good game by Insua, or Lucas, but a win's a win. Unfortunately, Tottenham decided to blow a 2-0 lead at half-time and lose 5-2 to the Mancs. It was pretty awful.
4 games for us, 5 league games for the Mancs, plus champions league to tire them out further. The Reds can, and I think they will, get all 12 points from this. We need the other guys to falter just a little more. With the significantly heavier schedule, I can definitely see it happen.

Oh, I almost forgot! A few of us stayed to watch the other game afterwards, and a new song was brought to my attention. Really hilarious.
Language warning!!!

Although the version we sang had a different first line, starting with "Your neck scar proved you swapped your head, Tevez! Tevez!"

The Reds travel to Boleyn ground in London to take on West Ham. Nice reasonable kick-off time of 10:30am. With the Manchester derby down the road on Sunday, there is still a thin glimmer of hope that something special can happen. It all has to start with a win tomorrow, so c'mon you Reds!!

Good win, keeping themselves 'in it'
So what would it take? A miracle? Pisses me off, they really had a shot this year.

Too many draws to weak teams did them in. They've only lost 2 games all season. That should be enough to win the league. Under the old 2 points for a win it would have been. Liverpool only have themselves to blame as the league was there for them. When you do the double against the Mancs and Chavs that should be more than enough. Draws against the likes of Stoke and Hull ultimately is to blame. Also, that undeserved loss to Spurs keeps coming back to me.
Come on Wigan, Arse, and Hull!
Miracle is right.

The Mancs still play twice until our next game. It's Wigan tomorrow, then Arsenal (a likely very vengeful Arsenal) on Saturday. By the time Liverpool hit the pitch, theyèll know where things stand. If the Mancs manage to lose BOTH of those (unlikely, I know) then ANYTHING IS POSSIBLEEE.....sorry, got carried away. After that, it all goes back to what Rafa said at half-time in Istanbul in 05. "Give yourselves the chance to be heroes".
While myself, and probably most fans, have come to terms that the most likely outcome has Manchester United tying Liverpool in league wins, stranger things have happened. With the quality of the team this year, despite the final result, you really have to be happy, and optimistic about the future. Imagine if on top of all that, they pull it off. I'm not going to stop believing until I see the number '87' next to the Mancs on the Premier League's website.

18-18 Folks. Fergie gets his 11th title.
Now to try and cut the European champions count back to 5-4.

Not quite the clinching game I was hoping for but it was good to see that everybody got what they deserved.
Especially Liverpool...even though nothing is slightly more than they deserve!
Good season but not quite done yet....

OMG! There be Manc Trolls around these here parts. Run away! Run away!
Basically I'm pleased with the progress that Liverpool made this season. They should have won the title and only have themselves to blame for that failure. A double over the Manc lot, including a 4-1 win at Old Toilet, and the Russians should have been enough. Like I've said before draws to crap teams did them in. They lost fewer games than the Mancs but under the 3 point system that will be a defining factor.
Bit of anti-climatic finish to the system. Man U didn't even have a shot on target in their clinching game. Ho Hum.
Thx Locke for starting this thread. It's been fun.You even managed to get some trolls to come here. Excellent.
Come on Barca!
Congrats Liverpool on a good season.

Definitely not what I wanted to wake up to, but I'm still damn proud of how Liverpool have played all year. It's definitely been a season to remember, and bodes well for the future. If we win the last 2, that'll mean it's only a few points from the league, and that's missing our 2 gamebreakers for periods of time. Anyways, gooooo Barcelona!
EDIT - And definitely thanks to Locke for starting this thread. I'll still be posting about the last 2 games as well. Anybody know where Barcelona fans are watching the final?

LOL! Relax. Who's trolling? There's no EPL thread so this was as good a place as anywhere to put considering theyre now tied for titles with a little add on re. comparison of European champion titles.
Congrats on your two victories and losing fewer games.

Its the same old story, too many draws against weaker opponents, as much as Liverpool's first team is stronger than Man U's their depth just cant compare.
No worries, and I'll start the next one too once the next season gets underway.
Go BARCA!!
