John Lynch was cut by the Pats.

And re: Bengals, I had been reading most of the training camp have the coaches had been saying, "If the season started today, Chris Perry would be our starting RB". I guess that was more true than even they were letting on.

But will be re-signed after week 1.

His contract was only guarenteed if he was on the opening day roster...this is just a cost-cutting move for the Patriots should they need room later in the season because of injuries.

That must be an endearing move for Lynch. What a strange, strange situation this whole thing has been.

My guess is David has a signing bonus that need to be amortized over a longer time period to be under the cap ... but that doesn't answer why he's listed as a starter, and as for Henderson I wonder when they will get tired of seeing someone who can blaze up the field in practise then drop everything in sight on Sunday.
There was a big hubub on saintsreport about David shown being cut on NFL.com. Turns out Stats.com had thier facts wrong. Things were looking up for a while there! Agreed about Devery, He was pretty solid in college, I've never quite understood his NFL trouble.

MacKenzie and Porter sound like they will be the starters at CB, with Colston and Patten at WR. I think Henderson has the 3rd WR spot right now, but Meachem moves into the third or even the #2 role by mid season.

At least I hope so since I made him a late round pick in my keeper league!

Here's to opening the season in a particularly rowdy Superdome!!!

Amen to that, David will be an expensive special teamer and dime back, as for Henderson, the kid has world class jets but 10 cent hands. Unless Meachum is a total bust, he should be the number two by midseason.

Ya I thought with Meacham developing as a deep threat the need for Henderson disappears. Hopefully the saints site is wrong and we don't see him in the starting lineup.

Porter starting in week 1! Wow, must have had a good camp.
