I say we just diallow all marriage. It's an ancient tradition that doesn't do anything to benefit our modern culture.

I was having a similar discussion on this topic with a friend today (he's Christian, I'm not so much). Naturally we had a disagreement in a rational fashion, saw eachother's sides etc...except on one point: If gay marriage is 'allowed' by the government, does that automatically make it so that churches must perform a marriage if approached by a couple?

I don't think it's the case, but my friend does...
